Fabulous lunch. Honest home cooked food. We had steak and ale pie and the captain's double burger plus wine and the sharing cheese board. Service was smooth despite a massively busy restaurant and bar. Great value for money and a great atmosphere. Thanks guys!!!!

Food average but staff absolutely useless - particularly the manageress - after waiting an hour and a half eventually served with average food and when queried was given an argument !!!!!!! End of day given £20 off which was not the point and if hadn't been with special friends would have walked out This used to be a well run... More

We last visited the Digby in the summer, on a very busy Saturday and had a really enjoyable meal. However, when we visited last Saturday (3rd), our experience couldn't be more different. One of our party had deep fried fish, which was extremely soggy and watery, which must be a culinary feat in itself. Another had the lamb chops which... More

I haven't eaten at the Captain Digby for many years and I couldn't remember why we avoided eating here. I saw Camembert on the starter menu and couldn't wait. I remembered I'm sure they used to do deep fried camembert, it was wonderful. This wasn't so wonderful, it was cooked fine, but it wasn't fried any more, it was baked... More

Having eaten here many times and fully enjoyed the experience, we were really disappointed with our meal last night. My steak tasted so strongly of bar-b-que sauce which is not what I wanted or expected having eaten steak there many times. My husbands steak was almost 50% inedible fat, whilst the remainder was under cook and tough. Whilst the staff... More

We went there with our 7 year old son & 9 month old son, both really enjoyed the new play area. The food was great and well priced, service was the only let down! We sat near the play area, quite far from the cutlery etc the waiter and waitress didn't offer to bring cutlery over or any sauce, we... More

Visited recently for anniversary. The staff were amazing and fast. The food was lovely and big portions. It was not very busy even though it was a Sunday. We had a window seat and could see the sea. It was very romantic. Would definitely visit again
