We last visited the Digby in the summer, on a very busy Saturday and had a really enjoyable meal. However, when we visited last Saturday (3rd), our experience couldn't be more different. One of our party had deep fried fish, which was extremely soggy and watery, which must be a culinary feat in itself. Another had the lamb chops which... More

I haven't eaten at the Captain Digby for many years and I couldn't remember why we avoided eating here. I saw Camembert on the starter menu and couldn't wait. I remembered I'm sure they used to do deep fried camembert, it was wonderful. This wasn't so wonderful, it was cooked fine, but it wasn't fried any more, it was baked... More

Having eaten here many times and fully enjoyed the experience, we were really disappointed with our meal last night. My steak tasted so strongly of bar-b-que sauce which is not what I wanted or expected having eaten steak there many times. My husbands steak was almost 50% inedible fat, whilst the remainder was under cook and tough. Whilst the staff... More

We went there with our 7 year old son & 9 month old son, both really enjoyed the new play area. The food was great and well priced, service was the only let down! We sat near the play area, quite far from the cutlery etc the waiter and waitress didn't offer to bring cutlery over or any sauce, we... More

Visited recently for anniversary. The staff were amazing and fast. The food was lovely and big portions. It was not very busy even though it was a Sunday. We had a window seat and could see the sea. It was very romantic. Would definitely visit again

Went here for lunch last weekend. Beautiful cliff top location but Very noisy restaurant, ideal for families but not if you want a quiet lunch. Food was mediocre, we ordered Butterly garlic chicken breast but mine was small and very dry. Dessert was good and portions, especially desserts were good too. I would not return, there are better places around... More

Overall poor because: Pros New soft play place & outdoor park plus next to a wonderful beach!
