This place was recommended by one of our tour drivers. It's a cute little place on the 2nd floor on the edge of town. Family owned, we enjoyed a dance performance by the owners' toddler son. We were so tired I honestly don't even remember what I ate, but I was happy with the food, drink, and atmosphere. They draw... More

We had an amazing lunch here on our last day in Santa Elena. We all had the Casado plate $10 or 5000 colones (typical lunch - rice, beans, choice of meat or veggie, plantains, salad and cooked veggie) and was seriously the best we have had (6 days in). We tried pork, chicken, steak and veggie. Food was cooked well, seasoned... More

Stopped here after a day of ziplining and was blown away by how good it was! The restaurant is located on the second floor and seems to be family owned. Ordered the chicken sandwich with fresh avocado and really enjoyed it. All of the food seemed very good and the pricing was not bad at all. We also ordered dessert... More

Service was good. Food was nicely prepared and presented. I thought the prices were a little high. Good selection of beers.

There were some real highs and a few lows in the meal. It is a charming little restaurant on an upstairs floor. Clearly a family operation as they have a bed and tv set up for their small children to occupy themselves. Some might be turned off by this, but I find it endearing. The service was a little slow... The food here was really very good. I had the very large fijita meal and it cost 15500 colones which my bank statement says is about $38 Canadian. Totally worth it. I had a late lunch and did't need to buy dinner cause I was still full. One of my drivers suggested I go to this place and I am... More

Recommended to us by another local restaurant, Mar y Tierra was the best dinner we had in several days in St. Elena. Situated in a casual and cozy, yet elegant, space above a bakery in downtown St. Elena, Mar y Tierra offered sophisticated service, an excellent selection of wines (they cover the walls), and delicious fresh fish (sea bass and... We visited here as part of a tour group for dinner one night. We all had a very enjoyable evening in this restaurant with good food, drinks and atmosphere. Service was friendly and we all agreed that it was one of the nicest places we ate in on our tour around Costa Rica.

We ducked into this restaurant after reading the menu posted in a stairway. It's on the second floor of a building, a bit tucked away from the main section of town. The balcony had a great view, the interior was tastefully decorated, and the service was perfect. We started with the cheese plate. All of the cheeses were excellent, and... More
