Provides a good selection of traditional Greek food with nightly specialities of the region. Very popular with groups coming out from Paleochora and locals from surrounding villages

We had planned to go to another taverna nearby, but as it was totally empty at 8:30pm we gave it a miss and walked to Grameno. We are glad we did, as the food and service were excellent. We opted for the meat meze for 2 (there was also fish and vegetarian) at €30. We were treated to 6 vegetable... More

We regularly visit when in the area and always receive a warm welcome and delicious home cooked (often home grown) food. The menu is excellent with local specialities but they are just as happy to provide one or two small items if you want a snack. They will even tell you to have fewer dishes unless you're really hungry!

After trying most of the restaurants in and around Paleochora in the past 10 years, we consistently rate Taverna Grameno among the top 3. It combines high quality and innovation with tradition; still a place where the owners are proud to show you the special dishes of the day and give you personalized recommendations. Vegetables come from their garden and... More

It is hard to understand why this taverna is more popular than the excellent Houma a few meters away. The waiters are very pleasant but the food could be better. The goat stew was tasty but not a lot of meat there once the fat, grizzled and bone was discarded. The stuffed meat ball was a large hamburger with some... More

Taverna Grameno is a typical cretan restaurant. We loved everything we ate there, especial the "apaki". A little bit expensive.

Nice environment and very close to the Grameno beach. Good selection of dishes and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend the grilled calamari: they alerted us that it would take about 25 minutes but they were worth the wait!

Tripadvisor's reviewers let me hanging this time around big time. Arrived at a Tuesday night with only 3 tables occupied we thought the chef would make wonders for the few people present and release us on a tasting spree of no return. The Greek salad was already made and kept frozen for our ...pleasure. A fact that they shamelessly admitted... More

This tasteful and traditional Greek tavern is located to west of Palaioxora, ten min away by car, close to the beach Grameno. For a lot of years are stable on the first level of taste, you have to taste mainly vegetables and minor meat and fish dishes. But the special dish is the disert : Ekmek !!! You have to... More
