This was simply amazing The room is white with flashes of pink and a roaring open fire The staff were friendly attentive and professional. Our waiter suggested a smaller portion for my wife- he made a great choice for our son- the owners kept stopping by to check. When the sommelier made a mistake with our order (my fault) he... More

I was worried this 2 star Michelin restaurant wouldn't be worth the hype. It WAS! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, the atmosphere wonderful and the food, well of course it was amazing! We did a tasting menu with wine pairing and it was well worth the money. Each item we were served was made with love and finite... More

The food was and still is based on tradition, showcasing seasonal ingredients from the peninsula. The extra-virgin oil comes from Le Peracciole. Alfonso son Ernesto now continues his father's philosophy of fresh and local, producing dishes such us spaghetti with mackerel, pin nuts and caramelised onion, a stand-out soup with crab and intense sun-ripened tomatoes, and guinea fowl stuffed with... I came here with my wife, we had a lovely night and a very memorable experience. We ordered one starter (reconstruction of a fried egg with burrata cheese and truffles, which was really good), one pumpkin gnocchi with goat cheese (excellent and surprising), one red snapper dish, which was excellent, and the lamb dish, which was also superb.. for desert... This restaurant is in a tiny hotel with beautiful pool and location. Arrive early and walk the road up to the old monastery, thru the gates, to get a lovely view of the sunset on Pompei and Bay of Naples. Then return for the treats at Don Alfonso's table. Beautiful dinner in an artistic dining room. Everything was done perfectly.... More

Everything about Don Alfonso 1890 is first rate: the accommodations, the service, the food. Deluxe is the best way to describe their style. I can not wait to share it with my significant other. Don Alfonso 1890 is one of those places that will become one of my most treasured memories for years to come.

A very touristic place with average food and extremely poor service. Perhaps we were unlucky but it certainly was a bad experience!

Went for the 1st time this October with a friend who has been several times. We were warmly greeted by Lidia upon our check to hotel. Everything was very comfortable, pink & purple with some great antique pieces! The suite was roomy as was our patio. The dinner and service were fabulous many great pairings of wines. Everything served &... More

Wow! This restaurant is fine dining in the truest sense of the word. The décor is beautiful. The service is impeccable and the food is out of this world. We were there based on a recommendation of a friend and it could not have been more correct. The world class reputation of this restaurant is well deserved. Do yourself a... More

We returned to Don Alfonso after a memorable visit 15 years ago. The owner, Lidia, is as charming and humble as ever, her husband, the head chef is still cooking to exceptional standards and the whole front of house team makes your experience a delight from arrival to calling you a cab at 0100 when it's time to home! A... More
