A very touristic place with average food and extremely poor service. Perhaps we were unlucky but it certainly was a bad experience!

Went for the 1st time this October with a friend who has been several times. We were warmly greeted by Lidia upon our check to hotel. Everything was very comfortable, pink & purple with some great antique pieces! The suite was roomy as was our patio. The dinner and service were fabulous many great pairings of wines. Everything served &... More

Wow! This restaurant is fine dining in the truest sense of the word. The décor is beautiful. The service is impeccable and the food is out of this world. We were there based on a recommendation of a friend and it could not have been more correct. The world class reputation of this restaurant is well deserved. Do yourself a... More

We returned to Don Alfonso after a memorable visit 15 years ago. The owner, Lidia, is as charming and humble as ever, her husband, the head chef is still cooking to exceptional standards and the whole front of house team makes your experience a delight from arrival to calling you a cab at 0100 when it's time to home! My wife and I ordered the taster menu which was incredibly good. The waiting staff were very efficient and knowlegable about every dish served. The wine waiter was also very hel[ful in assiting us to chose the most appropriate wine for the meal. Attentative but discrete service. The proprietor did the rounds of tables as did the Chef. All in... More

The food was exquisite and served with care and attention to detail. Courses were appropriate sizes, and the flavors complemented each other well from one course to the next. Inventiveness evident in each dish.

We had dinner at Don Alfonso 1890, a Michelin two-star restaurant in Sant' Agata, a small village outside of Sorrento. To say the least, the dinner and experience were delicious and incredible. We had the seven course Chef's tasting menu with wine pairing and they did not disappoint. Some of the courses we had, include: sausage of pezzogna with Candida... More

If you are visiting the Sorrento region and wish to experience a "once in a life- time" adventure, take the private cooking class with Nicola, the Sous-Chef and he will teach you and show you how to cook good food in Napoletan style- simple, but delicious. I took the the "Fish and Seafood" class, in which I sat to the table... More

We spent an amazing evening in this restaurant. Food was just out of this world fantastic. They also gave us tour of their impressive wine cellar. Truly unforgettable!
