We tried several restaurants in Porto Moniz and all were good but this one may well be the the best. For a start it was relatively busy in early March, always a good sign compared to the stark emptiness of the other restaurants, so we thought it must be worth a try. Boy we weren't disappointed! All the Madeiran staples... More

Had a week in Madeira and had several meals with Black scabbard. It was very good. My wife's dorada was OK but not that tasty. Probably it isn't such a nice fish anyway. Good value, recommended by our driver, would return.

Stopped here for lunch. Staff very attentive. Food was good, freshly cooked and salads were not limp. Sat outside to watch the world go by. Better menu than the chips and burger places and parking close by.

Stopped there to eat after our dip in the swimming pool. Well worth a visit - the food is good, the service we received was good and reasonably priced

Entered just to take a coffee and discovered they had vegetarian plates in the menu. It was to early for dinner so decided to have a snack. The hot dog was a pleasant surprise, the vegetarian sausage was tasty.

My wife and I dined outside so I can't say what the internal ambience is like - but the food was excellent and the wine very reasonably priced.

Not the best meal. again same menu as every where else. we were the only people in the restaurant but it was slow no finesse in the table setting service etc. unfortunately they could do with a bit more knowledge of their own products

We were offered a €12.50 per person 3 course meal with wine and coffee and asked to choose main course en route as didn't arrive until 2pm. Five of us at the table where bottle of red and wine wine had been opened. As we all wanted white it didn't give us much each. Thick vegetable soup arrived. Then ordered... More
