There weren't many options in Tekapo, especially while we were there on Easter Sunday. We tried this place figuring it would be mediocre, but fine. Unfortunately it didn't even live up to those standards. I ordered a vegetable curry dish that was mediocre, but way overpriced. Unfortunately my husband's chicken dish was inedible. I could smell the rank fish sauce... More

One of the worst meals I've had in recent memory, and still paying for it. I decided to try out Thai Tekapo due to the limited options open at 5pm in Tekapo, despite how pricey the menu seemed. I ordered basil and chili stir fry with vegetables and tofu which the menu said was vegetarian (which I am). After a... More

Tucked away amongst the shops is this wee gem. The food was good and the prices were affordable. Well worth visiting

Super coconut creamy, not the flavour I've experienced as a penang at all... Plus paid almost $20 for a single serve main takeaway dish. Ok if you're expecting a (dairy free) cream based sauce with not much else to it. Pretty light on the fillings, bit of sliced onion, couple pieces of pumpkin and minimal meat.

Whilst we were at Lake Tekapo it was my birthday and there are various restaurants about but we chose this one. The restaurant was quite empty and we got seated and served quickly. There was a selection of Thai and Korean on the menu and in the UK, Korean hasn't really taken off yet, so it was nice to give... More

The curry here is really good. My wife loved it more than I did (best she's ever had she says). The curry is a bit thicker than I am used to, which she loved. I liked it too, I just prefer it less thick. Very affordable as well. Overall good meal.

Visited just after 6.00 pm after a walk around Lake Tekapo Village. Raised window seat with view of lake past the LPG storage area. Complimentary nibbles of prawn crackers, crisp savoury biscuits (unsure of the name) and chestnut jelly flavoured with sesame oil. Shared entree of spring rolls. My main was chicken pad thai (a little on the oily side)... More

Came by for dinner and was seat at the top bit which overlooks the lake. The menu had both Thai and Korean food to pick from. After a long deliberation I tried the Spicy Stew. Although it looked incredibly spicy it was actually ok. The flavours wasn't really what I was expecting since the soup itself wasn't very beefy. Other... More

The restaurant offered a limited selection of Thai and Korean meals. The quality of the food was OK and the waitress was friendly. Nothing special.

Food tasted good and the chicken satay was beautiful and spicy. Maybe slightly overpriced for what you got but couldn't expect more where your pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
