We had an excellent meal there. Definitely book in advance, it's not somewhere you can easily rock up to. Stunning scenery in a beautiful little town. The food is exceptional and the service is warm and friendly. Highly recommended.

I only stumbled on this restaurant, which is in a very touristy place, because one has to book many weeks in advance. So they clearly were doing something well. The photos on the website are not terribly exciting, but I decided to give it a...try. It was one of the most pleasant surprises for a while. Firstly, the value for money is excellent. But even more surprising, IF at the time of booking, you ask the chef to prepare a vegetarian meal, he will do a superb job at preparing an innovative vegetarian meal, provided the seasonal fruits and vegetables allow it.More

We eat at La Belle Etoile at least once on every visit to the Perigord, over more than 30 years. The food is first class and the service exceptional. We all had different starters and different main meals and nobody was disappointed, they gave us a gazpacho and razor clams during the courses which was as excellent as the meals we had.

Sat outside on the terrace on a beautiful night and enjoyed a lovely meal served by a friendly, helpful gentleman. We were a party of 7 and everything we sampled from the menu was well prepared and very good. We all enjoyed our evening at...Belle Etoile very much. Exceptional from start to finish. The food, the wine, the staff and the view. Would recommend reserving a table outside overlooking the Dordogne.
