Good pub grub. I ordered a burger which took quite a long time to come out. Nice atmosphere with pool tables and large TVs to watch the rugby.

Relaxed Kiwi pub popular with locals and travellers plenty of room for large groups. Good range of classic pub food and pizzas at reasonable prices and large servings. I had a sweet potato and quinoa burger which was really tasty. Wine and beer at great prices too. Fun game of pool while waiting for our burgers.

The Chamois bar and grill is an informal, popular restaurant in the Alpine village. It is the cheaper option out of a choice of 3 restaurants. You order at the bar and collect your food when it's ready. We ordered beefburger and chips,- well cooked, came with beetroot which was different; and salmon with citrus sauce, rosemary mashed potato and... More

We were hungry after a long afternoons walk near Mt Cook and were famished. The Chamois Bar and Grill which had a fire and seemed not to busy so we called in. We ordered the Duo of Pork and the Porter House Steak. Both meals came out in 20mins and were absolutely delicious. Service was cheerful and very prompt as... More

Food was good, we ordered the pizza and something with chicken. Bit of a long wait but when everything arrived it was worth it!

In a village where the choices are limited, Chamois has the market as the "affordable" option. We waited an hour for our food - ceaser salad and a burger - as there were two large groups that order d before us. When the food finally arrived, it was ok. Edible but nothing to rave about and definitely not the standard... More

This restaurant is part of a large hotel/lodge and consists of a bar-restaurant layout. You find your own table from a choice of normal tables and high stool/tables along the scenic window. The views are magnificent. You go to the bar to order food and wine and pay for it. The wine is given there and then. You are given... More

We dropped in here a couple of times and found the place friendly and with good views of the mountains. It is a good place to enjoy a drink and if has a reasonably priced menu selection. Nothing flash just a nice place to go.

We had perfectly good food and reasonably priced drinks (happy hour) served by friendly and helpful staff who answered all questions honestly and fairly. Questions were posed after reading some reviews. We were told there would be a 35-minute wait on the food because of a large group (most free tables were reserved) so no worries there. By the time...
