We were staying in a local B & B and the Kings Arms was recommended to us by our hosts. We had a warm welcome by friendly staff and tried the local ale while sitting outside in the rear garden. Our food was very good...and enjoyable. We enjoyed it so much that we returned a couple of days later for lunch again but this time stayed inside and again had a great meal. A local pub that provides good quality food in a relaxing environment. Recommended.More

We stopped off the A38 on a Saturday evening, attracted by the brown sign and suddenly hungry after a day walking. The pub is a unfussy village all-rounder with lads drinker and a lot of mature couple and groups dining. The back dining room felt...a bit cut off from the main pub, but we were lucky to get fed. We both had the lambs liver with mash and peas which was incredibly filling. Good beer from Teingworthy too. Average prices. The young waitress was superb, dealing well with a couple of fussy customers and making us feel really welcome.More

Excellent meal and ambience. Very careful attention to relevant safety. The food was excellent as was the service. Very lucky to have such an excellent venue close by.

Such a Shame we expected more from this place Booked via phone and wasn't actually told the restaurant area was booked and we'd be eating in the pub. A lukewarm welcome shared with the luke warm totally bland overpriced food. Very much Freezer to Fryer...fayre in the kitchen, no love or attention to the food here whatsoever. I cannot see a reason to return sadly. I understand pubs are trying to recoup the losses during lockdown but not at the expense of losing future business. £13.95 for 5 pieces of scampi half a piece of fish, chips and what looked suspiciously like an "I've been to Iceland" Fishcake topped off with the most expensive small slice of banoffee cake I've ever paid for! (£5.95) again it looked like a iceland cake defrosted. Sorry........... I'm saying how I saw it I will always give credit where it's due but we work hard for our money and like to feel it's been well spent this wasn't one of those occasions...More
