Great, unusual tapas

Just had my second visit to this lovely, authentic Spanish tapas bar. Wonderful, unusual tapas, great service, even when it's busy, which it very often is. We were offered three wine 'tasters', as we weren't sure what we wanted. Waitresses were very helpful and happy, the atmosphere is great and we can't wait to go back for a third visit...Pick your time carefully though, as it can get really packed in the mid to late afternoon

Excellent tapas

We ate at La Chimenea twice during a recent 4 night stay in La Linea. La Chimenea is the real deal and we enjoyed fabulous tapas sitting at the bar and soaking up the atmosphere. The ladies who staff La Chimenea are all excellent and helpful and made us very welcome despite our very limited Espanol. It pays to arrive early! you get to to make friends on the pavement outside with all the switched on locals. We'll be back whenever we travel again to southern Spain.

Stunning place to eat at

This is probably the best place I have been to so far for tapas, and the atmosphere is brilliant. It serves excellent quality food at very reasonable prices. Expect to have to queue/wait for a table if you do not get there when or even before it opens - this place is extremely popular with local people. But they will serve you drinks outside while you wait. The place is also quite small, but exceeds expectations for service, and food and drink range and quality. If very busy, (highly likely) you may also end up standing to eat at the bar or outside (under a canopy).

A true disappointment!!

We have been going to this place for over 15 years. Had a few management changes during the years, last one around a year ago. It’s actually quite sad to see how a great place like this has changed for the worse. My food never arrived, in fact I waited 41 minutes for my food and in the end I said that if they are not going to bring it to please bring me the bill. They brought the bill, no apology. Staff don’t seem happy, they were actually really angry when they had to work on Domingo Rociero, were very unhappy while serving and made us feel uncomfortable. This place has changed a lot in last year. I don’t recommend and will not visit again. What a sad disappointment after so many years.

Tasty tapas!

Went there with 5 British friends who didn't speak a word of Spanish and it was fine, staff is friendly, food is delicious and made right behind the bar. It is short on tables, so it's better to get there earlier, because it gets busy fast. You can also sit at the bar, so it is solo-friendly. Extra points for letting us split the bill for card payments.

Great, cosy restaurant.

One of my favourite restaurants in La Linea. Amazing food, friendly service, attentive staff, great menu selection of tapas or large plates to share. Can't recommend this place enough. My only complaint is that it's such a small restaurant, there can be a long wait for a table so arrive when they open at 8pm to guarantee a seat.

Cozy place, quick service even on a Saturday night. VERY GOOD montaditos and canapés, expensive prices for bread and small ones. We returned the whole Iberian delicacy because it was hard and they charged us for it. We ordered TAPA of beef sirloin and regular (€9.50 for the tapa) and I left half. Honestly, I didn't eat well and I won't go back.

Girls all had a really bad

Girls all had a really bad attitude . Especially the one with tattoos .No welcome nobody smiled .warm tiny tapas of jamon ,empty bar and no atmosphere hasn’t changed in the eight years only got worse. Won’t be back

The restaurant has re-opened about a week ago with new owners and it’s fantastic. They have high quality food and drinks. We ordered crabs canape and a steak tataki and they were exquisite. The atmosphere is lively and elegant. 100% recommended

A complete disaster in terms of organization. My tapas went to other people who arrived later. After 40 minutes waiting I decided to leave and despite everything they tell you that they have lost your command on the way. What a mistake. I will not come back

This is a very popular tapas bar in La linea. Its name translates as "fireplace". I didn't see a fireplace, but there were other advantages. Low prices, friendly service, good selection of wine, beer and tapas. On the weekend, you might not get there right away. I don't know how it is now...

Really nice experience

Customers are served in Spanish and English. Not easy to get a table inside. Luckily we were early. Beef Tataki and Roscas were nice. Quality wines are available with affordable prices.
