We love Papaveri💞. This the first local place we ventured to in Nicolosi. From the moment we walked through the door they were warm and welcoming to my family. We spoke virtually no Sicilian or Italian. It did not matter. They are always friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. The tavola calda is delicious. I am... More

Bar and restaurant. I had some "tavola calda" pieces, arancini and cipolline (with onions) and they were very good. They also prepare vegetarian and vegan food.

We stayed in Nicolosi for 4 days and I think we came here every day! Pastries and coffee for 2, generally under 8euros is crazy (for someone from the UK where a coffee is £3...). The place is nice and informal, and seemed to be full of locals (always a good sign). The brioche was amazing, the granita was yummy,... More

While in Nicolosi we parked and wandered through the local Saturday market. Next door was Papaveri e Papere and we decided to give it a try. We really enjoyed our light lunch and LOVED the dessert. We shared a pineapple granita and is was excellent. We returned the next day for peach granita and baba and gelato. Both were good,... More

This is a great little place to eat no matter what you are after, the coffee is fantastic and the cakes are absolutely the best. The "baba" are the best I have had, they are soaked in rum and are just amazing. It is clean and staff are so helpful and go out of their way to make sure you... More

We stopped by randomly on our way from Mt. Etna to Catania airport and found that this was some of the best sicilian food we had the whole trip. It wasn't touristic and was genuinely good. The waitress was so nice, spoke perfect english. For 15 Euros we were served a 4 course meal, unbelievable mozzarella bruschetta, great pasta with... More

Great food and excellent service. A very good choice for a stop between Mt Etna and Catania. Not a "tourist" place, no views or anything - just excellent Sicilian food at good prices. Full of locals.

This is our favorite place to eat in Nicolosi. They have a wide variety of food on their menu and it is very tasty. Many servers speak English and are prompt to serve. Prices are average.
