This was a simple "pizza, burger and sandwich" restaurant, although fish was also available. Furthermore, a small selection of beer and wine was available. Nothing to write home about. My fish (salmon) was too salty, and I told the waitress. When presented with the bill, I was promptly informed that service was not included. Big problem arised, when I wanted... More

On Jan 01st, with little else open so early ( 8 pm), La Trattoria was opening and having read the reviews we were hoping to have something decent. I had a hamburger and my companion the Pollo La Trattoria. The chicken was a large large meal. The service was attentive and not overbearing - and decent value for money.

La Trattoria is a nice place to eat. The food is good and prices are affordable. One Off my favorite plates is Canelloni Trattoria.

A must place to eat when in Salto. Good service, very reasonable prices. They accept AMEX. Good spot to watch people.

My friend & I went there for an early dinner. We shared a very basic salad and ordered the sirloin in a mushroom sauce. We split it. The meat was so full of gristle that our plates were full of half chewed meat. The mushroom sauce was gluttonous and we scraped it off. Not the meat we hear about in... More

I had dinner here one evening last week. For me, one of its main advantages is that is open early - unlike most restaurants in Uruguay which don't open until 8pm. I ordered the home-made cannelloni which was delicious. The service was relaxed (in Uruguay they don't do it any other way!) but good. I would definitely recommend it.

La Trattoria is in the heart of Salto, on the main street Uruguay and within close range of a lot of hotels. I've been there twice and loved it. It's relatively cheap, especially if you've been to Montevideo before and has a big menu. The waiters are, as all Uruguayos, very friendly and congenial.

We saw good reviews for La Trattoria and went with pretty high expectations (unfortunately). The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. I had spaghetti bolonese, with overcooked pasta, while my partner had cannelloni. Both portions were large, but the meals arrived within 5 minutes of ordering which is never a good sign. The meals were bland indeed.... More

This restaurant was recommended me by a local friend. I had a good meal, but nothing especial. There seemed to be a good selection of local wines.

Good, abundant servings. Tried beef, which in Uruguay is usually top of the line. Waiter very attentive and professional. A little pricey, like all restaurants in Uruguay (most expensive country in the Americas!)
