Our first and last visit to this restaurant It looked so promising, booked it for a special evening meal, the waiters were not that attentive, my starter looked interesting on the menu, beetroot salad, overpriced and very little of it, my main was lasagne, it...wasn’t hot just tepid in the centre, too late to send back, my husband ordered the Chateaubriand, expecting it to be carved in front of him, it arrived as a whole piece on his plate, minimal vegetables, G&T was just over €10, still water €3.50 for a very small bottle, why do you have to pay for tap/still water? The waiters produce the bottle already opened!! Why, oh why do you have to pay for tap water? Restaurants in France the tap water is put on the table with plenty of ice and lemon, NO CHARGE!! The waiters seemed more attentive to regular customers, trying to get the attention was difficult If you want fish of the day, it’s not priced, I overheard two different waiters telling customers two different prices, it should be on a chalk board!!! They were trying push Lobster, also not priced, when we said we didn’t eat lobster, they lost interest as customers. Overpriced!!! Don’t go thereMore

We came here twice during our recent 10 night stay after coming twice in April. Our first visit was as a group of 5 and the service and food were excellent. Staff attentive and friendly. Returned on our last night as a family of 3...but hadn’t booked. Arrived at 8:30 and initially told it was full however the gentleman who we assumed is the owner/ manager found us a table outside overlooking the kitchen area. We aware amazed how busy the kitchen staff were and watched them prepare all meals. Could not fault the food, service and friendly staff at all. We will definitely return and highly recommend anyone to do the same. Tuna main course highly recommend.More

Visited yesterday (14th March 2024). Have been to Costa Adeje several times and been waiting to try this place. What a disaster. Very average to poor food at extortionate price. 9.5 Euros for a large dish with a very small central part holding the soup....Mintestrone...soup consisting of frozen peas and small chinks of mushy potato in vegetable water. Tasteless. 15.5 Euros for a main course of Lamb Tortollini...8 very small tortollini parcels in a very week broth... would hardly feed a mouse. The reaction to my polite question on the portion size by the head waiter was priceless... he shrugged and turned his back on us. One to Avoid at all costs unless you are very rich and not very hungry... all image and no substance.. Our cheap and cheerful Italian restaurant in Brighton (Donatellos) knocks spots of of this place.More

The restaurant has a lovely setting and the service we received was excellent. I would go back because of the service we received and it is set up in a nice way. The food however didn’t live up to the standard of the setting. The...soup was extremely bland and very disappointing for an Italian restaurant, I’d go as far as to say Heniz tinned soup is better. The Cod was a good sized bit of cod with a nice sauce but it was extremely dry and chewy such a shame for a good sized piece. The pizza was good. I didn’t complain about the food because we were hungry and it was late and I don’t really like to complain but really the restaurant should improve the quality of the food and get a better chef.More

Was in Tenerife for 11 nights and we dined here 4 times as a family group then as 2 couples and lastly just a couple. The service was spectacular especially Matteo. The food was superb and can't recommend this restaurant enough. If you are visiting...Adeje or the surrounding areas strongly suggest booking here. Thanks to all the team at Il Vecchio will be seeing you again soon ☺️More

We had booked a table in this restaurant. It was a chilly night but we were shown to an outside table nowhere near a heater. We asked if we could have a table inside but were told no - but we could have a blanket....We decided we would be too cold & got up to leave. The manager then came over & said we could move inside. The service inside was great. The food was good but quite pricey. We shared a scallop starter which was €18.50 - it was lovely but there were only 3 scallops & the focaccia was tasty but cost €8.50. Our mains were salmon and pasta and were very good. We had expresso martinis which were probably the best we had all holiday.More

We have visited this restaurant on several occasions over the last two years. We have never felt the service to be that warm and friendly but this visit will definitely be our last. On arrival we stood waiting to be acknowledged for the first 5...minutes, staff just walking past, no apology, hello or smile just a tick off in their diary. Such a cold reception from the older lady wearing glasses, it’s almost like we were an inconvenience. We sat down and after waiting for 15 minutes we asked if we could order some drinks. The waiter gestured in a minute. I then saw him ask another waiter who then ignored him and carried on doing what he was doing. We waited another 5 minutes then decided to leave. My husband went up to the waitress and said that we have been waiting for some service for the last 20 minutes, she just replied In Spanish with an aggressive tone. The staff are all miserable, no warmth to them, they look irritated and stressed. We only recognised one from our previous visits but even the previous members of staff weren’t much better. We definitely won’t be returning. There are far nicer restaurants with exceptional service in Costa Adeje. I have just read other reviews and see we aren’t the only ones who received poor service.More

A little disappointing on several counts. First, at least one dish on the menu is obviously no longer offered - so, certainly until the menu is reprinted, the waiting staff should announce at the outset that X, and Y, and Z aren't available. One of...our party had cod steak which clearly had been frozen and thawed - it was tough. The reaction to this was not what one would expect (take that dish off the bill, or offer a discount, or brandies on the house), not even an apology. And their prices are far from rock-bottom.More

We visited this restaurant as it was right opposite the hotel we were staying in, it looked like a really beautiful setting and always seemed busy so went for the last night of our holiday. Wished I’d have checked the other reviews before doing so!...Don’t be fooled by the appearance! The service is probably one of the worst I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. The majority of the staff are extremely rude, (especially what could be the manager with the dark hair and glasses) and the service is appalling. Over a 2h wait on 2 courses and 45 minutes before we were even offered a drink, despite trying to order them numerous times and being fobbed off or rudely dismissed. The food took ages to come and one of the older waitresses almost threw the plate on the table when we complained. The cheese fondue starter was awful, the octopus was like rubber, and the seafood linguine was more shell than seafood. The other dishes were just severely overpriced rubbish. Don’t waste your time or money, looks can be deceiving and I’d never expect to be treated so disrespectfully in a restaurant I’m paying to dine in.More

The food and service was excellent, especially as they were going to close for lunch that day, but stayed open as we had booked on line. There were 6 of us and we were treated like royalty as we were the only diners. We all...had different choices off the menu and everything was perfect. We are now regulars at Il Vecchio every time we come to Costa AdejeMore

Terrible! Avoid at all costs. Arrived here on Friday night to find full with no tables. Thought wow must be really good so booked for Saturday night. Arrived on Sat and sat at table. Placed order of Pizza. Sorry no pizza! What Italian restaurant doesnt...have pizza?? Ordered pasta. Over an hour later no pasta arrived or any kind of garlic bread or bruschetta to tide us over. Just nothing. Pasta arrived. Freezing cold and over cooked. Just pure stodge. Sent it back and it came back 10 mins later clearly having been nuked in the Microwave! Manager then tried to justify that sauce was thick (overcooked) as had egg and cream in it. Erm ive had lots and lots of pasta in my life (i’m 50!) cooked with egg and cream and it didnt come out looking like this horrific sloppy mess! Poor older waitress looked mortified several times about what was coming out of the kitchen and as she was so lovely with us and the kids we gave her what could only be described as a sympathy tip!!! What a mess!More

This restaurant was superb. I have an Italian mother in law and it was the first in an Italian restaurant that I have tasted a sauce like hers. The service was impeccable. Lovely ambience, the wines were great - not to be missed.

Dreadful & expensive-the scallops appeared 5minutes after being ordered-the ravioli was forgotten as a starter and then promptly arrived and was hard and undercooked -the ribeye steak was tasteless and chewy-I had to send back the cod as it was so overcooked it was hard-they...exchanged it for a sea bass-equally not good-we did challenge the bill that was full price and the head of house said no one else has complained-in other words-tough luck-he wasn’t interested and left his lovely waitress to take payment and she was embarrassed and apologetic-it was such a poor experience it had to be documentedMore

Four of us went last night 26th Jan very mediocre. I had lasagne which possibly was the worst lasagne I have had. It was burnt o a crisp no meat in it and no sauce just layers of dry pasta, the bottom was burnt and...stuck to the dish. I didn’t send it back as it took long enough to come. Other meals were mediocre,. So disappointing.More
