This is another fantastic country pub, great beer, great service and good food. Proper pub grub at its finest. I would recommend it for lunch or dinner.

As per usual, the Halfway House was lovely. Really good selection of foods at reasonable prices, great selection of real ales, and the staff were lovely and always attentive. Atmosphere was brilliant too. Thank you for a lovely evening out, will definitely be recommending to everyone!!

Incredibly wide range of beers and ciders on tap, and the landlord is extremely knowledgeable. Sat in the beer garden enjoying a lovely pint on a nice sunny weekend. Couldn't have been better.

We were visitors to the area for a long weekend in March, sadly did not get around to eating here but did experience a fantastic traditional pub with real atmosphere, very friendly service and most important of all some great beer and cider. Great for the entire family and the dogs too!

I met up with my family once again over the festive period and we all agreed that Halfway House was an excellent choice for...exactly that - halfway for us all coming in different directions and the food options were huge and delightful. However, on arrival, we were met with a wall of people all clambering to get to the bar... More

We like to think, evidence by our responses on here, that we enjoy the challenge of a critical review when it is justified. Let us start by apologising for the encroachment on to your table, that should not happen. However we cannot make sense of the other critical comments. We never only have 3 choices on the board and even... More

I have eaten here many times over the past few years. The food is always excellent and of very good value. The only downside is that the place is small and very often very busy so that you can be very cramped while having your meal.

Thank you for your kind words in regard to our beers, food and rustic surroundings. We hope your meal wasn't delayed for to long but it is freshly cooked and this does take time. You are correct when you say booking is advisable as we are busy and not the largest establishment. More
