My husband and I are Americans and stayed at the Hotel Post Lermoos for 2 nights in early October. The setting is beautiful. The hotel is nestled in a small village with stunning views of the mountains (with some farm land as well). The hotel...itself seems newer and is very well maintained. We had a Mountain View room on the 2nd floor and it was very spacious, well appointed, and had a wonderful private balcony. Lermoos was a charming town, but very quiet. If you’re looking for cultural immersion or a bustling village, look elsewhere.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the peacefulness of Lermoos. I wish we could’ve stayed longer which is really an indication of how much I enjoyed our time here. Below are some useful insights for travelers considering staying at Hotel Post Lermoos!
Most guests were very spa-focused. During the day, most people walked around in robes and slippers to the spa area and pool. I’d say most people were in their 40’s-60’s, but we did see some younger couples and families. We were the only Americans during our stay, but didn’t mind (most people seemed to be from Germany, France, Belgium, etc).
The spa itself was gorgeous and spacious, but a little intimidating for the average American. I’d say most Americans are not serious spa-goers, and the people at Hotel Post were spa-experts (so I was a little embarrassed standing around reading “instructions” for every room)! There were signs posted that you must be nude to utilize the spa rooms (sauna, steam bath, etc). I was fine with this, but my more modest husband was too uncomfortable to strip down in a sauna with 10 other people. The main sauna was huge, hot, and had fantastic Mountain Views. There must’ve been 2-3 other smaller saunas, multiple steam rooms, a plunge pool, and other various spa rooms to choose from. There is a family sauna near the pool though that you can wear clothes in.
Breakfast and lunch were served buffet style and there were many options to select from. Dinners were more formal with 4-course table service. We found the food to be good, but not great. I’d say everything was prepared well, but we just weren’t thrilled with some of the options (goose, mullet, venison... we’re more into the basic meats). It was still a very nice dining experience though!
I’ve stayed at a lot of luxury European hotels and this was one of my favorites. There was such a comfortable, relaxed, yet still classy feeling to Hotel Post.More
