The restaurant offers a limited choice of main dishes with smaller portions compared to the average of the Austrian restaurants we tried. The quality, however, is excellent, and the pasta and risotto that accompany the courses are also reminiscent of Italian taste. The plum dumping was a real treat for the senses!

I had dinner at the restaurant but did not stay at the hotel. I was super impressed with the quality of the food and the service. Both were fantastic! I almost went back for a second night in a row but decided to go somewhere else of the experience. I should have went back to Baderhause.

Excellent food on the way to the Alps. Nice terrace by the river. You can leave the car in central parking place and walk to the river.

We stayed at Baderhauz for two nights. We made the room reservation two months prior to our arrival. They responded immediately to our inquiry and it was totally hassle free. We were so amazed of the place when we arrived. The friendly owner Inge gave us a warm welcome. Every little thing in the hotel was unique and with a cozy atmosphere. It felt as if we were home. The moment we entered our room not only it smelled clean, but it was really clean especially the bathroom. We had the perfect view of the river. The only thing we could wish was the curtains should cover the window area when one wished total darkness. We also got a chance to see almost all the rooms before we left. Individually designed rooms and very artistic. It was kind of you Inge. The same experience we had when we dined at their restaurant. Uhmmm, our lamb was served very warm which we appreciated very much, but most of all it tasted like heaven. The service was superb. All in all it was like a hidden gem.

The restaurant is very nice. I actually wanted to review the hotel but it isn't listed here - maybe because it is new. If you want somewhere really characterful and friendly to stay in Bruck, this is a wonderful option right off the Haupstrasse. The owner Frau Liendl has an artistic, individual eye and each room is beautifully and creatively assembled. For some the floorboards may be a bit uneven or the arches a bit low. And maybe for kids it isn't perfect. There is a very nice double room on the ground floor with a huge bathroom which is best if you don't like stairs (the staircases are winding). On the first floor is a gorgeous suite - very big and well equipped (one large room). There are also two small doubles here, one of which is very small and quirky (Chinese room I think it is). The top floor has two twin rooms - very well equipped, spacious and warm. When I was there I was the only customer up on the top and it did feel a bit spooky at night, but this will change as it becomes busier. The only other possible drawback for some is that the showers are walled in glass in a couple of the rooms so you can see in (not in the suite or ground floor rooms though). The shower was powerful though. Frau Liendl bent over backwards to make me comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. But she also gave me space which was perfect. If you want somewhere central and original, this is for you.

All former reviews of Baderhaus do not apply any more since everything has changed in the meantime. The former host (i.e. the “Kaiser”) is gone. He has opened a new restaurant in neighboring Kapfenberg, named “K.u.K. Restaurant Zum Kaiser Franz Joseph”, where he still dresses up as the emperor. Who is fond of traditional Viennese cuisine has to go there and might be deceived at Baderhaus. The current restaurant at Baderhaus is officially named “Weinerei im Baderhaus”. Although this name means wine bar in English, this place is still a full-blown restaurant as can be gathered from its menu. The latter is not comprehensive, but offers enough choice except for Vegetarians. From Tuesday to Friday a simple, mostly rustic dish of the day is available for very little money. Apart from that prices correspond to the average level of restaurants of this standing in the area. Cuisine is now rather international than Austrian. The interior of Baderhaus has been modified a little because the imperial decoration was also moved to Kapfenberg. But the bare brick walls have remained as they were and still create a pleasant atmosphere. The outside seating, spread over different levels, is perfect: separated from the river only by a street of almost no traffic. I came to “Weinerei im Baderhaus” for a late lunch. At that time service was provided by only one person, probably the head of the restaurant. Despite the limited number of guests present, he had difficulties to cope with the situation. So, service was rather sluggish. On the other hand, preparation of my lunch was quite fast even in view of the fact that I had opted for the dish of the day. My fish platter was pleasing to the eye, but did not fully satisfy the palate. While I liked the fried salmon fillet this was not at all the case for the fillet of the second kind of fish because it was dry and lacked flavor. The rice was overcooked to such an extent that it started to degenerate into a sticky tasteless paste. The accompanying leaf salad, however, was well dressed.

The restaurant has been done out in the style of a Viennese Restaurant from the time of the Kaiser and is full of atmosphere.. The owner dresses up as the Kaiser and is charming...The food is excellent - especially the desserts. The wine list is extensive - a little expensive - and the food is not cheap but worth every cent. They have a very reasonably priced fixed menu at lunchtime....must book for dinner as is always full....highly recommended.

We had car trouble and ended up in Bruck a d Mur. Walking along the Mur we arrive at the Weinerei. Surprisingly beautiful inside. We are greeted very nicely and drink a glass of wine. It's fun, so we have an appetizer and then stay for dinner. In addition to the menu, the waiter recommends a dish with foie gras. Sublime! The wine advice is also great. As a main course, pork belly on noodles. A real surprise. Top
