This visit was one of several we have had following our regular Monday walk. We arrive a little tired and are always made welcome by Monsieur et Madame. We have the Plat du jour which today, as ever, was lovely. The tomato soup was full of flavour and texture. The seafood mousse was divine and the lamb tender and tasty.... More

Traditional French restaurant. Good food for a reasonable price. Not a huge menu but all the local dishes are represented. So expect a lot of foie gras de canard. Lovely garden. I would advise the ask the landlord to help you with the wine choice. Price vis quality is about three times beter than what we are used to in... More

I have been to this restaurant many times now and it never fails to impress! We visit France every year and we look forward to visiting this restaurant at least once on each trip. The sauces are out of this world.

Looking for a nice place to eat and we found it. Just a small walk up the hill outside the village. Food great, service great and a nice pace. Strongly recommend to visitors to Villefranche PGD.

Great food - we ate from the evening set menu plus there was a greater choice from the 'A la carte' menu.

It may be a bit out of town, but the few hundred metres walk (or drive!) up the hill is really worth the effort. The food was really tasty and good value. Chestnuts appear to be a favourite of the chef! Definitely one to re-visit.

We went here twice while staying in Villefranche du Perigord. The first time we had an excellent meal with pleasurable banter from the host and good service. The second time, both service and food were unsatisfactory. Maybe it was the chef's night off? Who knows. The Auberge itself is a charming, bit ramshackle place 10 minutes walk up a hill... More
