During September and October 2016, we spent a month touring northern Spain using a variety of 2,3, and four star hotels. Hotel Covadonga was easily the best our our stays. It was perfectly clean, with well furnished and most comfortable bedrooms. In the six days we stayed there, we ate in the restaurant twice, and both times it was excellent... More

We had the 'menu del dia' which was good value at €10 euros. In addition we ordered a plate of jamon which was delicious. My ensaladilla Rusia and desert were reasonable but the rabas (fried squid) was poor - it tasted odd and was very salty. Overall it was reasonable but there are probably other places in and around Panes... More

...to recover from a meal that was so poor it was funny. We had been recommended to eat here by an Asturian local who insisted the set menu was a delicious bargain. We had two tepid starters, one a rice-based mush the other a reasonable seafood mix. Our mains featured soggy, cold chips and a skeletal "fish." The puddings were... More

I was staying at the Hotel on a half-board basis - and whilst I was disappointed at their lack of formality in terms of a breakfast offering (it was served in the bar and largely consisted of toast and cake - although I did get fruit and yoghurt when I asked ....wouldn't be hard to offer eggs, cereal & juice... Home cooked meals that are typical of the region, a good value and good variety. We ate there several times and enjoyed it as well.

Having read the reviews thought it would be worth a go, albeit they seemed to suggest a bit of hit and miss service and food.. I think I got the "miss" day. Arrived to a dark and dreary dining room and had the menu del dia gabbled at me without a smile or attempt of a welcome. The place soon... More

More

My husband and I stopped by this restaurant while driving thru Panes. We had an excellent lunch there and I highly recommend it. I had the shellfish soup which was served in a terrine. My husband had the hake with asparagus. We were delighted. They have an English menu however more things are offered on the regular (Spanish language) menue.... More
