We went to La Taverne approximately 3 weeks ago and have to say the food was excellent. If you're ever in Lion-Sur-Mer for whatever reason then treat yourself to a lovely evening by giving it a try.

4 of us had the menu du jour. We left feeling full and happy. Crab for the starter, Veal for the main, and various assortment for the dessert. The place was full of locals eating their lunch. Food was served at a decent pace and...More
We stayed in Lion-sur-mer for six days - and we ate at La Taverna three times - I guess that sums up how much we enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere! We undestood that it's a family driven, all-year-round restaurant, so it won't just...More
A cosy little restaurant in a quiet spot where there are not many restaurants or watering holes. This place has a nice vibe, a good menu with a menu that has some good fish offerings. Friendly and with a history of hosting British guests on...More
We were the only English and it was packed, best to book in advance. Several set menus from €9 upwards with dish of the day as well. Food all cooked to order but service was surprisingly fast.
Lovely typical French restaurant, not pretentious. Family run and friendly. Very good English from the waiter, he was very helpful. The menu was good and bilingual. Nice wines to choose from. Overall good value for money in the main city centre

Was recommended to us by the Proprietors of Soleil de Nacre, Hermanville - turned out to be good choice. Good menu with good choices and food very good. They were obviously very busy the night we called but managed to find us a table.
