Traveling on business with a colleague who is vegetarian. This restaurant was recommended by the barmaid at our hotel. This isn't high end dining, but the food was excellent, local and homely. The wine was from the local vineyard. I had sliced black pudding with Sauerkraut to start ( the black pudding is made by the owner ). An unusual... More

Nice atmosphere (too many dead animals on the wall for my taste), food was ok, wines were great, waiters could be a bit friendlier.

I visited with my mother for dinner on a Saturdaay night in October. The place was packed because it happened to be the wine-tasting weekend in town. Like other reviews suggest, the restaurant has truly authentic atmosphere - the dining room is in an old cellar, the servers wear lederhosen. This being a traditional heurigen, I was really excited for... More

Excellent food, good wine selection, outside seating when the weather is nice and smoking is allowed inside as well so you have been warned. The ceilings are high and ventilation is good so there was no issues.

This is a traditional Austrian heurigen in beautiful Gumpoldskirchen so the atmosphere is fabulous - very rustic and authentic. However, the food was nothing more than average, especially for the price. The staff and service were very good and accommodating.

I visit this place fairly often as I live nearby. They serve great food , but it has to be said that the prices for wine are over the standard prices in Gumpoldskirchen. Atmosphere is great in traditional "hunting lodge" style. They have wide variety of dishes, and always have a season menu which offers interesting things to try. Staff is... More

We arrived in Town late so we're worried about finding a restaurant that was open. I have eaten hear before and the food was just as good as last time. They have a vast array of meal available and we had no complaints with either the food or the service. They have a good selection of local wines and the... More

We had both dinner and lunch and we enjoyed both. The service was exelent. It is good Austrian food and you are not dissapointed with the quality. The wine is good quality for the money.

Large restaurant area, food very traditional, much deep-fried and breadcrumbed-stuff. Outstanding wines, not very expensive (try any Rotgipfler!).

We went here twice on a recent visit to Gumpoldskirchen. There is a varied menu and a good choice of wines. The prices for the latter don't look quite so steep when one considers that a litre of soda water is supplied free with the first bottle. (I have no idea why you do not get it if you order... More
