A wonderful place. Great grilled food and enthusiastic proprietors made this a fantastic experience. They offer a high quality meal and specialize in charcoal grilled meats at great prices.

Good food, nice people, good portions

We came here for a quick lunch, tapas, good music playing, helpful staff, friendly, excellent tasty food but do not underestimate the portion sizes. We had 4 dishes for 2, and struggled to finish them. Good rice dishes and unlike many places they serve rice in single portions rather than "minimum two". Great idea. Clean toilet. Sit outside and soak up the atmosphere. Don't miss it.

We came in as three friends looking for a hearty dinner after some fierce physical activity, and boy was it a treat. The person helping us started translating the menu and with everything sounding so tasty we asked her to give us the Catalan experience by sharing a number of dishes which she could pick by her own choice. The dishes were plenty and well thought out, complementing each other by the order we got them. The kicker was a lamb-infused paella which was nothing short of spectacular in our opinion. We finished with a small selection of cheeses and some pear ice cream with vodka, simple but tasty. The person helping us knew what she was doing and worked up taste-wise to the final dish, a trade not many restaurateurs have mastered. Combined with the humor and near-perfect service we had a great experience! And at a very fair price, what else can you ask for?

Incredible food, amazing service, you have to visit this restaurant

We came as a fairly large party and they were able to get us seated, the owner came and talked us through the menu, explaining what each thing was, and where the dish originates. It was clear the owner and her staff take great pride in the food they serve, and they should. All the staff were incredibly friendly, and made an experience for us that we will not forget. Every dish that came out was incredible, and I cannot fault at all. They were very accommodating the children in our party, offering them things to do to keep them happy. If you are in the area, you must visit this restaurant.

This a bit odd but fantastic restaurant that we can't understand we missed during our trips to Vilanova serves Catalan food with great love and knowledge. The service is personal and efficient and they take the time to explain everything you wonder about their dishes. when it comes to whine/drinks they have a sommelier who is very responsive and knowledgeable, so I recommend taking his advice. And finally listen to Viktoria and you will have a perfect evening. By the way the food is fantastic😁👍😁

Slow and deficient service

Too slow service in a place with pretty decent food. It takes forever to be served, probably because the woman in charge creates a bottle neck when welcoming, explaining the menu, and taking the order by herself instead of spreading that among the rest of the team. We ordered tapas to share and we never had more than one dish on the table. It took forever to get each tapa. They forgot 2 dishes and had to claim. Food is decent but overpaid for the service we’ve got.

We had a really good dinner last night at Le coq & La Mer. Traditional Spanish food and almost everything on the menu is home made. They have a big charcoal barbecue inside and the service is more than good! They really take the time to tell you everything about the dishes and the wines. Afterwards we got a really nice typical Spanish liquor made of rice with cinnamon on the house. Thanks again!

Good site!! Highly recommended and exquisite treatment by the couple who runs it! They know how to recommend super delicious rice and an extensive and homemade menu, very good value for money. I highly recommend a place that is also beautiful, cozy and transmits a lot of peace!! You have to try it! The cod croquettes with pastis and the flavored chicken croquettes with cinnamon are great!

Worthy of the accolades

This was a real treat. We asked Victoria, the owner, to recommend food for us and she played a blinder. Three simple but different croquetas to share and half a tortilla (like a Spanish omelette) made for an impressive starter. We were also given two separate things to enjoy (both local delicacies ) on the house which was lovely. All this was followed by Sea Bass for me and Iberian Secret (pork) for my husband. He was absolutely raving about it! Finally, (because clearly we hadn’t eaten enough😂) we shared a pudding that was recommended and which was amazingly light and rich. Along with two glasses of good wine, 3 beers the bill came to €72. Good going I think. The final bit of great service came when Victoria not only ordered us a cab but walked us to it to make sure it turned up. This restaurant deserves to be up at the top of the list in Vilanova!

Must go for a good meal!

After wandering around the town for a while I'd worked up a hunger. I'd walked oasg this place previously and saw what looked like great food being served. I decided to sit down and grab some lunch. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, they let me speak my broken Spanish and helped when I needed it. The food was delicious and well worth the price with big servings and fresh seafood. I would 100% come back and recommend to anyone who visits!

This restaurant is a wonderful place to try a variety of traditional Spanish dishes - it's owned by locals. The place does everything right: the aesthetic is beautiful and fits the vibe of the town. The drawings on menus and signs are wonderful and really make the place feel modern. We tried several dishes, and pretty much thought all of them were incredible. My favorite was the Bread with tomato paste and anchovie. They also offer a variety of paellas which are also all wonderful - don't forget the Aioli! They also offer several beers on tap, wines, and liquors and cocktails.

We started with vermouth and olives, followed by razor clams and cockles to share while we waited for the “slate” rice, which on this occasion was made with mushrooms and sausage. The rice was delicious and all the dishes were perfect and filling. Very attentive and friendly service. Correct quality-price ratio. Without a doubt we will repeat.

This restaurant, the comments I found to go to do not correspond to reality, the rice they serve is with all the ultra-frozen seafood and a very strong tomato flavor that kills the flavor of the rest that it has and the starter I ordered I couldn't eat . They didn't charge me for the starter but a good professional would never have taken it out because it was overdone. I won't be back.

The food and the service at this restaurant are unrivaled. Absolutely delicious, and the level to which Victoria and her staff attended to our family was amazing. Anchovies, gazpacho, croquettes, paellas, rabbit…all fantastic. Victoria paid such close attention to us and made us feel like family. If you’re anywhere near Villanova and want an authentic, delicious Spanish meal, you must visit Le Coq & Le Mer.

Exceeding expectations.

I had gone twice already and the rice dishes, the atmosphere and the service had seemed exceptional to say the least. But on January 28, 2024, following the tradition of looking for the best brothy rice with lobster that I have with my father, I decided to take it here. Firsts [pecking] A closcada and some battered squid. Anyone who knows how to cook knows how difficult it is to find the perfect cooking point, both when frying squid and cooking mollusks. The squid is crispy yet very soft inside, without the heaviness of the "fritura" that we all know and "the closcada", razor clams, noodles, mussels... 0 earth with a very soft texture with the perfect point of the dressing. But the highlight and what this review really comes from is the lobster soup. I have eaten this dish all over the country and with my father we always go in search of the greatest exponent of this rice. Well, I have to say and in agreement with the other 50% of the equation, that it is by far the best rice with lobster that you can eat in Vilanova and surrounding areas in all aspects. We were really surprised and we let the local staff know. Rice lovers, this is a mandatory stop if you are in the area and a must-visit at least once in your life, it has nothing to envy of the famous Menorca stew (I can attest to this). And as in any self-respecting review, we must save a final point for dessert: "Rafaello Cake" Handmade cake with 100% ingredients and processes, definitely recommended as a table closing. And I want to finish by praising the service and attention received throughout the duration of the meal. Not only will we return, but I plan to recommend this place to my entire circle, which, as I say, you should go at least once in your life. I summarize the account: 3 beers 2 waters 1 Coca-Cola Caldereta for 2 (3 eat calmly) Closcada Squid 1 of Cake 2 coffees. Less than €100 (90 something). Thank you very much for making any Sunday a Sunday to remember. Greetings.
