After visiting Cragside we were in need of refreshment. Tea & scone were delicious, served by smiling happy to help staff. All cakes looked amazing.
We couldn't understand why this little place was so empty when the one next door was so full. Certainly, with its quiet atmosphere, pleasant service, and quality of produce, it didn't deserve to be, and indeed, it made it preferable.
Just perfect for traditional style afternoon tea - sandwiches, scones and cream, hot buttered tea cakes, and a selection of sponges. Reasonably priced and served with a cheerful smile

The small tea room is very pleasant, staff attentive, surroundings spotlessly clean, easy access and disabled loo too (although the door is VERY heavy), home baked cakes to buy. Excellent all round.
