The pub is located off a country lane near Lamberhurst and is easy to find and has a large carpark and lovely green in front. The pub has a large garden bordered by fields and would be a great summer stop off. Have eaten twice in the last month , both at week ends. Staff attentive and on the Sunday... More

Having previously visited this venue and really enjoyed the food and service, we booked a table, they didn't even know we were coming when we arrived! Pretty disinterested, eventually shown a table, despite being half empty, didn't rate menu, settled for scampi and chips! Served in basket, no trimmings, scampi poorly cooked, left in disgust! What a shame given our previous... More

We booked a table for early supper but when we arrived were told children aren't welcome after 7pm. Annoying this wasn't mentioned when we booked.

Went here for dinner over the Bank Holiday weekend. The baked brie starters was nice but nothing special. The main of bangers and mash was very dry and could have done with more gravy. The sausages were just about cooked but tasteless.OH had the Hunter's chicken and you needed to be a Hunter to find it! The portion was incredibly small.The... More

We were a family that booked for Sunday lunch. We had the roast beef and the roast chicken. The only let down was that all the veg was warm/tepid, not hot as it should have been. We didn't book until 2pm, so maybe a lot of veg was just sitting after being cooked? It certainly looked that way. The roast... More

Pleasant staff, food and building but several printed signs before you even get inside about controlling your kids and having 10 year olds out by 7pm. we asked for a child's portion of a cheese sandwich (half and no chips), seemed to be a hassle and charged full adult price (6.75). It's the landlord's choice if he wants his pub... More

As you say its my choice. We have many families who visit regularly and have extremely well behaved children, this is not a crèche for children to run around uncontrolled, tripping up waiters and other staff and annoying other customers. The signs are ignored by parents with well behaved children, as to the "cheese sandwich" I have discovered that you... More

Lovely venue for Sunday lunch. We ate in the bar area not the conservatory, which in my opinion was far nicer and just what we were looking for. A lovely old pub with lots of beams and a nice atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday Roast - good food and nicely sized portions. I note that there have been mixed reviews... More

We went after visiting the eldest daughter in Tunbridge Wells on the way back to this pub for a meal. It was quiz night (and although I didn't participate I knew 90% of the answers!) Madame had olives and bread as she had already eaten. All fresh with olive oil etc. The teenager present had a burger, very nice and... More
