this is one of the best and good value restaurants in the Furano area - it's a fun place to go as well

Went for dinner with my husband and adult son last night. Even though we had made a reservation, we were given a seat in the upstairs dining area which put a damper on the experience as it felt like we were being placed into overflow seating. The downstairs area would be better for us as it seemed to have a... More

We recently returned from a family & friends skiing trip to Furano, Japan. We enjoyed this food so much we returned again during our 10 day stay. Great for small or large groups, preferred the atmosphere & service downstairs on our first visit. The second time we were seated upstairs which I didn't think was as good. So I would... More

Arriving at about 6pm on a Sunday night without a booking, we were seated at the bar next to some friendly locals. Lots of people streamed in through the night both with and without bookings and there was a raucous crowd in a function room, so a very popular restaurant! Tried the sukiyaki and the shabu-shabu (note the prices on... More

We went here twice on our visit to furano, the hot pots were delicious, we had the seafood curry the first time and then the house special with the chicken venison and duck...so good And the wagyu steak was melt in your mouth yum! Enjoy!!

Great food, traditional Japanese, nice atmosphere. We sat at the bar and it was nice to see the staff work. Need to book early as it fills up fast

I went here with my 14 year old son while on vacation. We ordered the Wagyu sausage and tempura as appetisers. It was excellent. We then shared the Traditional miso based Nabe (first item on menu) which was very tasty. We sat at the bar, which was very tight but fine. Like most restaurants in Japan, the staff don't speak... Visited Kumagera last night in a party of four (including boys 6 and 11 years). Good and extensive menu, we opted for the Nabe, sausage, cheese type tofu and crumbed pork set for our youngest. The food was fresh and tasty and we loved the cheesy tofu. Decor is nice and the staff very helpful. Would definitely return.

The Kumagera serves japanese cuisine, Sanzoku Nabe, miso based hot pot made from duck, chicken and venison. The wagyu beef sabu sabu and wagyu beef sukiyaki was also amazing! The prices was acceptable and the staff can speak english and they have a English menu too.

Based on the recommendation from the Hokkaido Agent, we were booked to this restaurant, the place is quite big for a group. The staff were very helpful even though they do not speak English well. They accept reservation. The shabu shabu beef were tender and the seafood was fresh. Will come back again next time
