Staying on a caravan site down the road we looked on the internet for somewhere to eat. It stated all home made food, we thought YEAH, but it proved us wrong, it was. The scotch egg wrapped in black pudding was cooked to perfection and the Sea Bass on crushed potatoes was delicious. My husband had the steak & ale... More

It's a friendly, consistently good pub with a great variety of food on the menu and good value kids menu. The real ales are in great order and the food is always well presented and tastes delicious. It's firmly one of our favourites in the area. Helena and Mark are excellent hosts always ensuring that our visit is well received.

Found on Google search. Rang to find out about availability and gave my name to Lanlord who said they would fit me in. Received warm welcome when I arrived shown straight to a table. Opted for White Bait starter, Fillet of Bass with butter n cream jus and Curly Kale main and Apple Caramel pie n custard desert. Quite simply... More

Went there for Sunday lunch after reading the good reviews and was not disappointed. Thank you other reviewers. The menu was admirably short. My wife had a burger with all the modifications she had asked for. When waitress asked if she wanted anything else with it and my wife asked for chutney she was offered home-made plum chutney which turned... More

We were staying near Cheshire Oakes and wanted an alternative to the chain restaurants that where on offer there. Although not that appealing from the outside, once inside had a very good welcome, with excellent service, good home cooked food, at reasonable prices. We were certainly full after two courses. This is combined with an excellent choice of beers. Altogether... More

We were staying just up the road at Lady Heyes park and had been out for the day. The Travellers Rest had looked inviting as we went out so we decided to eat there later. We were quite early so got away without booking which was lucky as it got busy soon after we ordered. The service was excellent and... More

We had a very nice Saturday afternoon family lunch. All food was of good quality and appears home made, with good service, one of the better pubs in the immediate Frodsham vicinity to eat at. We will definitely eat there again. We did not have a starter, but the puddings were great.
