In the past people have been living in the rocks in the lovely Sicilian city of Scicli. La Grotta is situated in a cave in the rocks. When you enter the restaurant it's much more charming than it might sound. It's a cozy place with just one or 2 people in the kitchen, 1 or 2 in the restaurant. The... More

We tried this restaurant after it was recommended by our apartment owner - and weren't disappointed by the superb meal we ate. Built into the cliffside and with its cave dining room, La Grotta looks amazing and provides food and service to match. Each dish was a traditional Italian classic, with a slight twist supplied by the chef. Both the... More

This restaurant is really very highly recommended. Excellent friendly helpful staff, extensive menu caters for fish and meat lovers as well as vegetarians. We couldn't fault any of the various dishes we chose. Definitely a place to return to

Charming place eked out of a real cave with little nooks and crannies. Small, not many tables. Looks family run. It was just a very nice dinner, nicely served in an original and friendly ambience with excellent food and wine at a reasonable cost. Scicli by night is lovely and so was this place.

I have been coming to this restaurant for several years now, and I have to say that it never let you down. It is one of my favourite restaurants out of all. The quality of the ingridient it's excellent, but what I think is really outstanding it's the capaticy of serving Sicilian dishes relaborate with a twist, they always manage... More

The setting is amazing, ancient rooms carved into the rock and then fantastically decorated. The meal was excellent and the staff really efficient and friendly.

A bit hard to find but well worth the effort. In a cave in the hillside it may not look too flash but they concentrate on what matters the food and service. Lower mark up on wine so maybe a chance to try a more prestigeus bottle. We only found afterwards that 52 euros for the Donnafugata Mille & Una... More

Ate at La Grotta last night inside the cave. Very atmospheric, excellent and friendly service and food prepared with local ingredients and with care. Shared codfish salad with rosti starter, grouper with saffron sauce, steak and salted potatoes mains with orange and fennel salad plus bottle of wine two coffees and grappas. All excellent, would recommend.

This restaurant is wonderful. Just the presentation itself and the restaurant is quite nice. Everything we ate had a uniqueness. Herbs and spices used in a very original way. My favorite part. The ricotta based dessert. Wow! This place is a must try! Buon appetito!

Another recommendation from our hotel.... This particular town is one of our favourites in Sicily...and this restaurant is kind of tucked away - built in a grotto- but we actually ate outside ...I do believe that sometimes you eat in the grotto itself ... We were ushered to our table and straight away knew that our meal was going to... More

In a natural cave the restaurant La Grotta is born. With it's special position in the heart of Santa Maria La Nova in Scicli. La Grotta has a special ambient which let's you live the perfumes of the typical Kitchen Ragusana. The tastes and specialities will let you live Sicily. Also the great selection of wine from the vineyards will let you be inspired
