My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today! True to my word, I said I'd give a good review on trip advisor. Credit where credit due. Can really recommend! Nice to see Richard back too! We'll be back!

We went today, 14 March on our way to Beccles, thought there is a nice pub for lunch. Went in, friendly hello, when asked 'are you doing food'? the reply came back yes but only pizza! Shocked to the core, needless to say neither of us like pizza so left, very disappointed as at looked a lovely pub from the... More

I arrived early to be met by the lovely Stacey who was very warm and welcoming. Before long the rest of our contingent arrived and we were shown to our table. We had preordered and the whitebait starter served to whet the appetite for my tagliatelle with mushrooms in a delicious creamy sauce, absolute heaven. For dessert a chocolate fudge... More

The staff are so welcoming and helpful, and the food is really top class, locally sourced and cooked to order. We had the burger (from Halesworth) and the chicken wrapped in bacon, both with chunky chips. Both were delicious, and just the right sized portions. We had the house Sauvignon Blanc white wine, which was very good too. We will... More

Visited for a meal just after Christmas. The friendly staff, efficient service and excellent food combined with brilliant live music from a young duo called "Simply Dutch" made this a very memorable evening. Shame it's not our local, we would certainly visit more frequently.

Thr bew owners have really improved the pub since out last visit. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food, I recommend the burgers, and the beer is well tended. I heartily recommend this pub, you won't be disappointed...

Nice pub for a Sunday lunch, great choice of Sunday lunches (beef, pork, lamb) plus an enormous mussels dish, which was superb. Good choice of beers, the kids loved the pork roast and staff were helpful and friendly. We didn't get chance to enjoy the open fire but that was roaring too. Would definitely recommend to all types of groups.

Went on a Sunday for lunch. Table of 8 - 4 adults, 4 children. All the food was excellent. Best (and largest) mussels I've ever had - just delicious. Couple of others had a burger and they said it was the best burger they'd had in any pub. For the children we ordered the Sunday roast pork. The portions were... More

Built in 1495. This wonderful pub in rural england is on the outskirts of the Suffolk National Park. We have spaces for overnightamping and caravaning. We belong to BRITSTOP & The Caravan Club of Great Britain. We offer the best of local real ales and ciders or just drop in for a tea or coffee. Our resteraunt offers a very extensive menu of pub fod and snacks. We are only a short walk from the River Waveney, 20 minutes from the coast, 5 miles from Beccles.
