Spacious elegant atmospheric restaurant where you may enjoy exquisite food served by kind owner. We took acquacotta soup, liver pate and medium cooked pork that we enjoyed pretty much. Local red wine San Giovese was nice but not exiting. Music was definitively too loud.

We were staying nearby and had a dinner where the chef came to take our order. The food and wine were delicious! I had the pork tenderloin and my husband the steak - delicious!

Chef Barbara and John Paulo are a dynamic duo. They've owned the place for 14 years and Chef Barbara discovered her passion and took over the kitchen 12 years ago. The food is straight from her Grandma and mother. The atmosphere is familial, because it is owned and run by a family. The restaurant occupies an old yarn mill turned... More

Did the cooking class with Chef Barbara, the very best cooking class ever. Chef Barbara was absolutely amazing, very hands on and full of useful tips on how to cook authentic Italian. Made Focaccia a few different varieties, crispy pastry with pear and pecorino, Auquacotta soup and Chiusoni. Class was scheduled for 3 hours but it lasted closer to 6,... More

We planned to go there with the family (2 adults, 3kids)before our holiday in maremma. The food was delicious - all prime ingredients, well executed and fantastically presented. From the menu you can expect pretty typical regional dishes, interpreted in a more sophisticated and modern way. The restaurant is very charming and generous in terms of space. The host is... More

During a recent trip staying in Manciano we not only enjoyed a delightful dinner but got to know the owners and spent a second evening in the kitchen with Chef Barbara making 6 types of pasta, while sipping wine. An absolutely lovely family and lovely restaurant - modern yet old world Toscana food. Definite GO while visiting.

We had an incredible meal here. Tall ceilings, huge windows that look out to Tuscany. 3 courses and desert. We went back to take a pasta making class that included dinner enjoying our new found art of pasta. Chef Barbara and her family are so welcoming.

Great ambience, relaxed pace for dinner. This was the best meal we have had on this trip and one of the best in Italy on any trip. Tip top recommendations for the carpaccio, gnudi, strips of beef that you sear on a hot stone at the table. Great wine and a proper presentation to condition the glasses and aerate the... More

Very modern and posh setting in an old world town. Food was delicious and they had some great selections for wine...but how could they not, being in the heart of Tuscany? Food was nicely prepared and a great presentation. While not everyone spoke Engish they were all very helpful and made sure we all had a great dinner.

Description
La Filanda Restaurant and Wine Bar is situated in the old walls, that in the past housed a Granary and then a production of raw yarn… restored with respect for the original structures. In a comfortable setting managed directly by the owners Gian Paolo and Barbara, you can enjoy Tuscan cuisine, interpreted in a modern key and respect for italian taste .Preference is given to Tuscan products, such as senese dressed pork products and maremmana meats, hand made pasta, ewe’s milk and goat’s cheeses .. The wine bar is a glass of wine, a piece of ripe pecorino cheese, a tasty slice of cured pork meats, an ample selection of Tuscan wines: Morellino di Scansano, Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico, Nobile di Montepulciano and all the other Super Tuscans are there… to suggest alternative itineraries and an invitation to visiting, tasting and also purchasing.
