Really enjoyed it here. Have actually been back lots of times now and it's always lovely. A good old (Very old) English Pub, with loads of really great food & excellent Beer. Bar usually has all the Shep Neame Beers plus often some really good guest Ales. Tip: The Blackboard Menu is packed with ideas, so take a pic on... More

Found this by chance whilst driving past. Attractive pub from the outside, cosy and full of character inside. We were greeted by friendly staff, good choice of drinks and wine. We chose to eat in the restaurant which had good menu choice cooked by established chef. Food was well presented, plentiful and delicious. Great choice too for vegetarians. Service was... More

I first started to visit this pub in 1962. Took some Yorkshire friends to lunch last week. The welcome was warm and the food excellent. Had the Sunday roast....cooked perfectly.

Ok, is how I would describe this place after a few visits. We feel it's over-priced for what it offers (8.95 for an average and not very warm jacket potato seems excessive), service so-so (the land lady was quite attentive but the waitress was bordering on hostile for no reason), especially for the prices they charge. It has got character... More

We wanted to try somewhere different in the Loose area , we managed to get fitted in for Sunday lunch. We met with the landlord and landlady who made us most welcome, a large selection of drinks and a comprehensive menu ,we went for the roast which was excellent, as was the service, definitely going back.

Well, can't believe I've not reviewed this perfect pub before - but today I simply have to. Such a lovely menu, with great specials and lovely winter-warming meals. We had sizzling fajitas, awesome... and always a perfect log fire too. But, at the end of the day, it's the landlady and landlord that make this pub so special - so... More
