My second visit to this pub and restaurant chosen particularly for the beer. Unfortunately they had run out of Doombar- on a Friday night. Had to book a table as it is very popular. Extensive menus ranging from bar snacks to full a la carte. I tried an unusual dish of sea bass on a bed of sweet and sour... More

We were staying at the touring park attached to the pub and four of us had an evening meal which we all agreed was excellent superb steaks cooked to perfection great steak pie and a good chicken dish. Large portions served on hot plates. No room for pudding. See my other report on the touring park re another meal for... More

Not impressed with the service and lack of Menu choice, would not eat here again as there are better food places to eat at close by.

My memories of this place go back to the 1980's or maybe earlier. Pulling up into the spacious car park the venue is how I remember it only slightly run down. This pub looks better from the back view than the roadside. It reminds one of a sea side pub perhaps too big now for the probable trade that uses... More

Wow! What a derogatory and somewhat unfair review… I will probably start my reply by asking how you think the building looks run down? Let’s look at the front, this has been freshly painted and has baskets and flowers. You say that the back looks better – the back has not yet been painted. Back to the comment about being... More

I have recently viewed the fish and anchor with family from London. The food is normally very good here. But we had ordered all different food. I ordered a steak which I wanted rare and it came out well done. The children have chicken nuggets and there was no chicken in them what so ever. The roast meat was raw... More

Four of my family tried Dinner here. Service was slow and the food was OK but not outstanding. More attention seemed to be given to the LOUD people at the bar.

Booked a few days at the Fish & Anchor campsite, site is very nicely laid out and will be really fantastic once the new WC and shower block is opened later this month. The pub and restaurant was very welcoming and the food was all freshly prepared and cooked to order. Real ale pub with good selection of beers. Downside... More

Awful service. Got completely ignored when we first arrived, and then again when we got told to go to the bar, by the same member of staff, she obviously didn't want to serve us as she walked off. The only reason we stayed was because our 9 month old daughter wanted feeding, so we got a drink and sat in... More

We are very sorry to see this review. I have spoken to the staff who were on duty that day, as I was not there myself personally. I am sorry that you felt you were ignored, as this really is not the way we treat our very valued guests. We welcome people with courtesy and a warm smile. I am... More

We arrived at 12 noon and the owner was on hand immediately to check all was ok. They are trying very hard (succeeding!) to make the campsite more desirable to caravan needs. 6 super pitches up and running. New shower block opens next week. Then on to the pub after setting up. The beer was excellent. Doombar and UBU both... More

Met my friend here for mid week lunch get together. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive and helpful. Our food was served promptly and was spot on. My hot smoked salmon ciabatta had a side serving of chips. I'm not a big fan of chips but these were delicious. Will certainly be returning.

The Fish and Anchor in Offenham has been under new ownership since May 2014. The Fish and Anchor is the place to come if you are looking for a friendly pub with great homemade, fresh and local food at good prices.

The Fish and Anchor is fronted by the River Avon, the inside has been refurbished to a high standard, outside there is a lovely large sunny beer garden with plenty of space for children. There is also a paddock offering electric hook up for tourers and camping.

The Fish and Anchor is a great place to meet up with friends with a glass of wine, in front of the roaring log fires on a cold winters day, or a glass of something chilled in the garden on warm summer evenings.

We have a function room available for private parties, meetings or get togethers with large groups.

Come along and enjoy a friendly welcome, excellent food and great drinks.
