After enjoying the wine tasting we enjoyed lunch We chose fish of the day (salmon) which was very enjoyable. The views from the deck are rather special. We will be returning for another lunch before we leave the district as we enjoyed this so much.

We loved the setting. The food was very good. Some of the more expensive wines (from this vineyard) are excellent.

With amazing views of the vineyards, the food is delicious - my husband and I shared the two platters of cheese and charcuterie. Super good and fresh food!

Food was good but very expensive. The wine was delicious. Service was good but a little contrived. Overall, nice for a special occasion, but not as friendly or yummy as the pub down the road

Limited but well chosen menu in a wonderful setting. Wines from the winery, the tasting samplers are particularly good value. Library wines are also available. Good coffee. Really 4-5

Popped in here for tastings and then grabbed a platter outside on the deck. Amazing! Platter was delicious, views stunning and staff friendly.

A good cellar experience followed by a fantastic platter for lunch and one of the best views from a restaurant in New Zealand!

This is a friendly place with a stunning location. Service was good but the cheese plate was poor. The pieces of cheese were tiny and the price was not. Nothing special in terms of food but that view makes it well worth a visit.

Great restaurant in a unique setting. We enjoyed a few drinks and one of their excellent platters, then got some great pictures in and around the old trucks and nearby hills.

Description
The Winery Restaurant at Mt Difficulty provides a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy a delicious lunch. The restaurant is open daily between 12 noon and 4pm. On a fine day the outdoor terrace is the perfect spot to take in the flavours of the region while enjoying the uniquely Central Otago views. The chef produces imaginative cuisine, and the menu showcases the freshest of produce, with a choice of substantial fare or platters to share. The kitchen is open and the dining environment is casual. All main meal options come with suggested wine matches, though diners are welcome to make their own choices during a complimentary wine tasting at our Cellar Door tasting counter. Reservations are essential - demand is high year round and much of our seating is weather dependent.
