Delighted to stumble upon this gem of a place, just a short walk from our accommodation. While the menu was large we chose the freshly caught fish on every occasion as it was so simple and delicious. The local wine was delicious too. Lovely outdoor...seating with great views. And the staff were friendly and helpful. It was busy every night we were there, which is the best review for any place.More

We had 2 lunches at Vardiola. The fish - octopus, bream and squid - was beautifully cooked, the local wine was great and it was good value in a beautiful setting, perched above the beach. The only downside was that, while two of the staff...were really friendly, the other two were hard work. Maybe the end of a tiring season?More

We visited here on our first holiday as a couple. The views are beautiful with a lovely atmosphere and attentive, friendly waiting staff. We tried several local dishes over 4 visits within 1 week! All dishes were tasty and fresh. Excellent food and brilliant service!...Beautiful fresh fish, make sure to order the lobster a few days in advance as it’s fresh! The owner spent time with us on our last night educating us about the local area and sources of fish. He also recommended a delicious aperitif produced on a small Greek island which finished our final night perfectly. You must visit to discover the delights of this local taverna and soak up the local atmosphere, it is simply perfect 😍More

We stayed nearby to this restaurant so decided to check it out. Food was good, and we were made to feel welcome by all the staff, who added plenty of little touches to make it a nice evening. The views are great and has a...traditional feel.More

Terrible service and even worse cuisine. Restaurants like this should not be allowed. Do not visit this place under any circumstances!

We ordered a souvlaki amd mixed grill. The owner took the order and asked us what sauce we want, the pepper or cream sauce. Not if we would like a sauce but which one. I do not like sauce on the souvlaki so I asked if...it was possible to put it aside. We got the plates. One with sauce on it and one at the side. The food was not that good. The chicken souvlaki dry and not warm amd mixed grill with a lot of fat on the chops. We asked for the bill and yes the sauce was charged. 2 times 2 Euro. This is not the way and not a nice way to make your money. They should ask, do you want sauce with it, so then you know its extra. If they ask what sauce would you like you assume its included. Sure its peanuts, only 4 euro but its a very tricky rip off.Besides of this we did not like the ambiance. There are way more better restaurants in Agios. This is not one of them.More

Nice taverna near our hotel. Had delicious gyros, galaktobureko and some drinks. Would go again. The owner is not as talkative as at the other tavernas but we still felt more than welcome

Was walking past and decided to in for a drink, glad we did we were met by the owner and seated to gaze out over the country side and sea. We were going elsewhere for dinner so asked for drinks he recommended the so called...black wine which was a lovely red fruity almost sherry like wine and had some garlic bread with tomatoes which was delish. Owner gave us a print out of the history of his family restaurant which was very interesting and we admired the all the fruit and olive trees in and around the restaurant. Decided to return the next day for lunch and weren’t disappointed I had a moussaka and my husband the bread and again the black wine and garlic bread very tasty meal.More

The owner thinks highly of himself but his kitchen really needs the attention. Dry meat, plain flavour of the fish. Dessert were tumbled in cream (couldn’t find the actual thing I ordered). And the coffee afterwards was so strong you could stay awake all night...on just one cup. Not a success, we think the restaurant is over-rated. There are better taverne’s in the neighbourhood.More
