A lovely large pub to go to for a meal, a drink or both. We have had a meal there on two occasions and have had numerous drinks there. The staff are friendly and the place is not too expensive. There is a great atmosphere there and it is cosy. On Tuesdays they have country style market fair there. Well... More

Visited prior to going on the North Pole Express at Tanfield. We were greeted quickly and in a friendly manner, seated swiftly and never rushed or bothered but instead cared for and checked upon throughout our meal. The food was amazingly good, you have to see the Yorkshire puddings to believe them! Well worth every penny it cost.

One word delicious food is beautiful but I would definitely advise on not having a drink as you will need to a loan to pay for the drinks there so so expensive

Popped in for lunch on a Sunday and even though it was incredibly busy we didn't wait long for a table and the service was fantastic! Food was out of this world as always! Mince and dumplings with chips and veg!

When we first arrived the car park was really busy which made us think that we would be a waiting a while to get a table however , we were shown to our table as soon as we walked through the main door. The place was really busy but the staff were great and all looked very smart and presentable.... More

Haven't visited for a long time and decided to go as it was a steak night. On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and took us to the restaurant. As it was early it wasn't too busy however within 30 mins was packed. Nice surroundings with a nice atmosphere. Restaurant staff were very attentive but not intrusive and are... More
