Very good hotel and restaurant, Nice persoel and very good traditional scottish food. This hotel is old fashion and what you expect in Scotland. Close to one of the best places for spoting dolphins i Europe.

Really enjoyed our experience last week at the Anderson, even the owner came over to greet us (Well meet the dog really). Food was great, beer too. Friendly atmosphere. Dogs are allowed in one of the bars. More pubs should allow dogs!

We got here at 22:00 and were made very welcome. The vast arrange of local and foreign ales will keep the barmaid waiting patiently whilst you make your choice. The locals were happy to chat with us and this made it a feel good bar

Third visit here in three years and after two excellent experiences sadly disappointed Slow service, at least 45 minutes to wait for main courses then we had to eventually ask if they were taking orders for desserts! 'Suppose I could' was the reply. The bill even included drinks that did not have. Having enjoyed my two previous visits I'll not... More

what to say about this place, except this was one of the few magic places discovered during our road trip. The atmosphere is trully local, yet welcoming and warmful to outsiders and tourists like us. The staff was extremely friendly and nice to held up discover local beers and dishes. Quality of food was great for a very decent price.... More

We'd heard very good things about the restaurant at the Anderson, and we weren't disappointed. We are here twice during our week in Fortrose, and enjoyed several dishes, ranging from a lovely salad through to their rib eye steak. The steak was the star, excellent meat, great flavour, cooked just as we like. Best steak I've had for years! I... More

We had a lovely meal for four here last night the food was obviously home cooked to order and had none of the horrible heated up rubbish so many places serve nowadays. The staff were very pleasant and helpful without being intrusive. The bar restaurant filled up as the night went on and judging by the chatter and friendly vibe... More

Being second home owners, we visit regularly however we had not been to The Anderson for a couple of years. When thinking of where to go for supper, we had no hesitation in booking The Anderson as previous visits have been superb. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed this time. Nicely greeted on arriving and shown to our table and given... More

We ate here twice. The American that owns it, Jim, was a hoot. Food was very good both times and for a small village we were really pleasantly surprised. Definitely would recommend this place
