Great recommendation. Such a lovely surprise. From the outside it looked tiny but was a tarsus inside. Fabulous food and top notch service. I had the duck salad to start and the blackened miso cod for main. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly. Just a shame it was dry January so couldn't sample the impressive wine list or puddings. Will... More

2nd time i came here for a business dinner and this time also for 1 hotel night. Rooms are small but cosy and large shower & free whiskey! Rooms at streetside are somewhat noisy and ceiling is quite low for tall people. Overall ok. Best part is the dinner & wine which are of excellent quality, be it lamb ,... More

But the meal was very expensive for what it was. Cost me £45 for a three course followed by tea and mince pies . The starters were quite tasty ,.for the... More

I took two clients here for a meal and we were not disappointed. The restaurant had it's beautiful Xmas decorations up already which made it very festive. My colleagues ordered salmon and I had fish pie. Everything was delicious. The wine was perfect and the prices were a bit on the expensive side but not outrageous for the quality. Will... More

A nice old country pub look to the front and bar area, good selection of tipples. The bar area does get very busy as this is the main way into the restaurant. The restaurant is a disappointment, yes, it looks nicely set out etc, but the service is appalling - just not enough staff and those that are there have... More

We've eaten here before so we've excited. Family of 8 celebrating special event. Sat down to lunch at 13.10 with Pre-booked food orders, still nothing (no bread etc.) at 14.00! They forgot to serve one starter... plus the crab dish didn't come with bread (as we have chefs and hoteliers in family) so had to order and soggy, garlic soaked... More

We went to the Bell and Dragon on Saturday for lunch absolutely lovely from the open log fires the Xmas tree and decorations,to the excellent food. We had the special which was Sea Bass which was perfect, we sent our compliments to the chef. Followed by the treacle tart and ice cream, perfect presentation as well as excellent service.

My client invited me to their Christmas dinner at Bel ad Dragon and as we pre-ordered the meals, we didn't wait for food too long. I went for a vegetarian menu and the pumpkin soup as a starter was out of this world. So yummy... For the main, I really wanted something vegan, but had to settle for Wild Mushroom... More

Description
One of the oldest Coaching Inns in England, Bel & The Dragon Cookham sits on the village's picture postcard High Street, a short walk from the Thames Path and under a 30 minute drive from Central London.Following wholesale refurbishment, Bel & The Dragon combines 600 years of history with the best in modern British cuisine. The menu is created by award-winning Head Chef, Ronnie Kimbugwe, who previously spent 7 years with Gordon Ramsay and was most recently the Senior Sous Chef of Gordon Ramsay at Claridges. His passion for the finest seasonal fare, sourced from local & sustainable ingredients, is immediately obvious. It is also complemented by the inclusion of a rotisserie for the very best Roast Chicken, Creedy Carver Duck or the signature spit roasted Suckling Pig.And then there is the Josper Grill, which cooks at up to 600°C and is compared to an indoor barbeque- since it has transformed restaurant kitchens forever, with early converts already including Gordon Ramsay at the Savoy Grill and Heston Blumenthal at Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental.Wine lovers are warmly welcome to enjoy one of the best cellars in Berkshire, stocked with only the best vintages at extraordinary prices. The special Cellar list has been created to provide amazing value for money between £55- £95 per bottle, for some of the best wines ever produced.
