I rented a bungalow in Las Galeras for 10 weeks called Casa Jim. The bungalow was falling apart and I did not have hot water and I even couldn't use the bathroom for 5 days straight. Because my rental property was so abysmal I spent much of my time away from it. EL Capito was one of the sanctuaries that... More

Go here. A car will make it (we did- twice!) but it's definitely an adventurous drive! :) The views at sunset are nothing short of absolute amazingness.

Long drive from where we were staying but worth the journey as it was very interesting to see a different part of Dominican Republic. Food was very good and the waiter was very polite and friendly. If you get one of the front tables, you'll love it.

We have just enjoyed a stunning and romantic sunset. This place is definitely worth a visit. However, the prices of the food are just beyond the border, especially once you have in mind that the 50 dollar paella (for two persons) is priced the same as an average weekly wage of a DR citizen. Maybe the best option is to... More

A great (tiny) restaurant on the edge of a cliff. Food is great and the sunset was amazing. There is a great little petting zoo as well.

We dined at El Cabito twice in 10 days and both experiences were wonderful. Food and service match the outstanding location.

Gorgeous setting with a spectacular view---but the food was only mediocre. Perhaps come just for drinks?

It is a very short ride from the town of Las Galeras, although the final stretch of the road is in bad condition. The view is simply unbeatable. I recommend that you arrive around 6pm so you can see the spectacular sunset. From your table you will enjoy over 180 degrees of both ocean and mountain views. The food is... More

We were advised to visit this spot above a cliff east of Las Galeras town. We visited on an eventful day with a somewhat angry sky and the crashing waves, spray plumes and scudding clouds made for a dramatic setting above the water. A blowhole nearby provided additional sound score to the scene. We had a nice table and great... More

Beautiful view, decent food. More expensive than any restuarant in town but the view is worth the trip.
