I regret to say that this restaurant has recently ceased trading. It was a bold attempt by a go ahead couple but in these times of cutbacks it just didnt generate enough trade.
We had a voucher for afternoon tea and after redeeming this we immediately booked a weekend evening meal Both visits were faultless. Sandwiches were tasty and fresh whilst homebaking was up amongst the best. We even bought some to take home The evening meal was a completely different atmosphere but no way detracted from the meal. Again the food was... More
We visited this restaurant on a busy Saturday afternoon for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were poor not much variety or tasty but the cake selection made up for it, they were beautiful. The service was also good.

We enjoyed our meal very much indeed. Good portion sizes. Bread and butter brought to the table which we like. Attentive waiting staff and a very busy dining room. Rather expensive wine. Well worth a visit. Very stylish.
It's taken me two years to finally make it here for an evening meal - but it was worth every hour, day and month of the wait. Top notch food, served unpretentiously and with good humour in an inspiring historic setting. Hard to know what more to ask of a restaurant. Will certainly not be waiting so long again.
We booked the Carron for Valentines Night Out, beautiful setting, red roses on all the tables, such a nice touch. 3 course menu for £35 per person included vegetarian options. There was special his and hers cocktails, which I was really pleased about, love cocktails. The Love Fizz cocktail was perfect! My husband chose the Gourdon crab he really enjoyed... More
