We visited today for a late lunch (pre booked) and as usual was not disappointed. Anthony and his team run a very clean and safe environment in these uncertain times. The food was delicious and excellent value for money, along with great sevice. We would...definitely recommend if your tier allows.More

We visited in July 20, so before the madness of the masks and 2nd lockdown. They did, however, have a one way system in place, hand sanitiser and only one person ordering at the bar. On to more important things! The food was simple but...superb. Our group had a mix of pies and fish. All great. Beer lovely. We stayed at York Marina caravan/motorhome park and it was an easy pleasant walk from there.More

Having looked at reviews and the Website we drove 45 minutes to find Cars in the car park and the Pub doors unlocked. But there was not a soul to be found. Waited 15 minutes. Left and went to McDonald's for an excellent Spicy Quarter...pounder. I know that these are difficult times but how difficult is it to put up as closed sign?More

We happened across The Blacksmiths Arms at lunchtime when we decided we didn't want to wait the 40mins to get into McArthur Glen! The pub was lovely and clean with covid guidelines adhered to very well, but without being intrusive. My husband and I ordered...the steak sandwich, the kids ordering a sandwich and chicken nuggets. It was all wonderfully freshly made to order, without feeling we were waiting long. My little boy said they were the best chicken nuggets and the chips lovely. The gravy was divine and my only regret was not ordering an extra boat as the offspring commandeered one of ours for their chips! The lady in charge was so lovely with a lovely warming welcome. If you're looking for wonderful homemade pub food that is not extortionately priced, in a relaxing friendly atmosphere then this is the place. We would certainly visit again.More

A great British pub found by chance. I had fish and chips which were the best I’ve had for a long time. The fish was beer battered but not heavy with batter, the fish was fresh and cooked to perfection! Minted peas and chips could...not be faulted. My partner had the homemade cottage pie with veg. Again beautiful and homely. Sally, the bar lady was friendly and efficient. We will make this our food destination again when visiting the York Designer Outlet. Happy to support local businesses rather than the less than average food hall at the outlet. Top notch Blacksmiths Arms, well done and Thank you :)More
