Outstanding pub Sunday lunch consisting of 'triple roast' (beef, pork, chicken) with mash, roasties, parsnips, peas, leeks, carrots, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and gravy enjoyed on the picnic tables by the river Wye outside the pub. Perfectly cooked, great quality and very generous quantity too. Washed...More

Lovely pub with great beer and delicious food. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Dogs are welcome with a biscuit jar on the bar. The pub also has a self-catering flat which is dog friendly too. Well worth a stop.

Been coming here on and off for 23 years but the last couple of times had been a real disappointment. Just come back and the place is back to its best. Really pleased, nice beer, food and a good atmosphere.

Hearty pub grub, good portions, friendly staff and note there are new owners, so ignore earlier reviews! Dogs made very welcome too!

I can echo the good reviews - one caveat: excessive noise from the loudspeakers, although the landlady did turn it down on request. Piped music makes conversation more difficult for most people, especially those with hearing problems. In any case, is it not ill-mannered to...More

This place does exactly what it says on the tin. It's in beautiful countryside - with a capital 'B' - and being a stone's throw from the Monsal Trail and numerous other footpaths means it is something of a walker's mecca. Seemingly welcoming to locals,...More

We walked here from campsite about 3 1/2 miles away, very friendly welcome, no problem with boots or dog. Slight issues with food, I asked if the ploughman was meat or cheese, it was meat but said they could do me a cheese one, I...More

Stopped for lunch and pint while walking the Monsal Trail, food and beer both excellent. There is a boot friendly bar for walkers.

Looked for a web Site to view the menu and prices but can't seem to find one. Shame read all about the pub in the local paper and sounded great

Don't think so. Suggest you call them and ask for an indication of prices.
