Another excellent meal in an extraordinary setting. An ancient royal cloth mill of which the lager part is abandoned has been transformed into a restaurant and guest house from mid-March to end October. During this period many art exhibitions and jazz concerts are held. The restaurant is in a huge park and we were lucky enough to be able to... More

We were just out for a local area discovery drive when we stumbled on this town of many book shops. Walking around the beautiful picturesque narrow lanes we stumbled upon this extraordinary place called l'Apostrophe, imagine 1920s Charleston Art Deco era and your almost there, what a great place, we had entrecôte bavette and duck between us with green beans... We visited the Apostrophe for dinner and drinks one night. It clearly a little early in the summer season and they not ready for guests yet. The buildings need a good clean up as do the grounds. But it is such a beautiful place and our meals were great. with a lovely host Frank. When in full flight it could... More

Difficult to find as the surrounding buildings look derelict but we persevered & were not disappointed! Great food & house wine & they managed to fit the two of us in as we had not booked a table & it was Sunday lunch & nearly all the tables were taken. There was only one waiter front of house who managed... More

A party of six, we enjoyed the food and the service. The price was reasonable and a happy time was had by all.

Food and wine was quite good and we ate two nights in a row (because nothing else was open in Montolieu!) Reasonable priced. We stayed at Apostrophe and it was easy to eat and go upstairs and collapse afterwards

As has been said the buildings are quirky, a bit like a 60's artists commune. We went to eat with a Groupon voucher and were disappointed. Maybe they lowered the standard for the people with the voucher which defeats the purpose as we now would not go again even though we live quite nearby. Starters were Ok. foie gras nice... More

This is an amazing place which I hope goes from better to better as the development takes place. They have taken a derelict site and are gradually creating a wonderful arts, accommodation and eatery site. It has not yet fully acquired its niche but the sheer imagination and delight in trying to reach its potential is staggering. We drank (quite... More

We read the reviews & therefore were slightly wary about eating at Apostrophe. However, trying to find somewhere to eat out in Montolieu on some days of the week is a little hit & miss. We persevered & followed the lane down to Apostrophe wondering what we would find. In the event our welcome was warm. The building is very... More
