We visited the newly refurbished Dickin Arms for lunch and found it to be a very pleasant experience. The menu, though not large, had something for everyone and proved to be tasty and well presented. If we had to make comment it would be because the wine was brought to the table and not served. Small point. From my personal... More

That probably says all you need to know. From the food to the decor to the service to the welcome, really can't fault this place. The Sunday roast is the best I've ever had, to be offered rare beef is a rarity in itself. Then to see that their wines are supplied by Tanners just put me in seventh heaven.... More

So impressed with the new Dickin. The refurb is beautiful but still in keeping with a country pub. Service excellent, good menu selection and terrific wines. Food was delicious. Can't wait to go back !

Booked a table for 5. Food was brilliant although tables are quite close together so one of us got showered in drink when the waitress tripped making her way between tables. Best steak we've had for a long time and the sauce on the chicken was lovely

The Dickin Arms has had an amazing renovation, it looks stunning. I was really looking forward to dining there. We ordered a bottle of white wine, this was placed on the table un-opened therefore we opened and served ourselves, we thought this was a bit odd as normally your wine is opened for you to taste etc. We also had... Dear Helen Many thanks for your feedback from your visit. We are very sorry to hear your experience was "disappointing" and even sorrier that you chose to submit your review without mentioning to either of us that you hadn't enjoyed your experience on this occasion. As I am sure you can imagine in a new business that we have invested... More

What a transformation we loved it. The food was absolutely brilliant especially the steaks. The bar is nice just to chill after a meal. Homemade gin was to die for we will be back very soon.

we have visited a couple of times now and I'm sure will be recognised by the new hosts, as on both occasions we have been with our three somewhat large dogs ( always a talking point). the dogs are made very welcome in the Gun room bar where a very convivial atmosphere exists due to the large log burner and... We really wish the new owners the very best of luck. The Dicken seems now to be another gastro pub, as opposed to the 'local' it used to be and one can only hope that the locals will still feel welcome. It has been beautifully and tastefully redesigned both inside and out, although as the dinosaurs we are, we miss... More

Many thanks for your warm wishes, although we do feel your rating of 3/5 may be a little harsh, given that you didn't dine with us on your visit. The Dickin Arms has been renovated in such a way that encourages our colourful local populous who we have become very fond of (I'm sure you noticed the new gun room... More

Having undergone a huge refurb and re-opening at Easter, this pub is gorgeous. Beautiful fresh, tasteful decor. With welcoming landlords The Dickin Arms has a brilliant country pub atmosphere. Even the loos have nice little touches. The menu looks amazing, very reasonably priced for what is on offer. It was fully booked in the restaurant this weekend so we couldn't... More

The New Dickin Arms, has been revamped and reflects the change in customer expectations for 2017 and modern day customers. The Decor produces a comfortable environment to dine and socialise. The food is good and well prepared and well presented at a reasonable cost. Of course after a mere 10 days I would say that Nick and Jay have effected... More
