Gluttony It's A Sin is no more, after the 'nice' owner took all the money he owed his suppliers and staff and pissed off overseas with it. The 5/5 is for all the lovely customers and hard-working staff who kept the place going despite his utter selfishness.

It's a sin ... because it's closed and I'm hungry. Sad to see it shuttered up but I wish the staff all the best.

Working near Smith Street on Saturdays I am in the habit of lunching at Gluttony. Blush a little to admit that I now walk in, am seen at counter with spoken welcome "lasagna and latte?". Handing over a mere $10 (other choices exist of dish & hot drink) I grab a provided newspaper and await the delicious lasagna with side... More

As a local this is often my place of choice for a relaxed, casual breakfast or cup of tea and a slice of something freshly and amazing to go with it. Easygoing, friendly staff, great food (I'm really well catered to as a gluten free person) and an all-round nice vibe. I get the feeling that the staff here are... More

Long time on Smith St and still holding it down. Great for breakfasts, dinner or just to hang in the porch area or on the street side tables and drink coffee.

Had breakfast here one morning when there didn't seem to be many other options. I was visiting Melbourne (my home town) from London (my new home) on family business. From memory Gluttony had been there quite a while and I had visited a few times quite a few years ago... and enjoyed it then... so I thought maybe the fact... More

The menu` has a good variety and the portions are really big! My cousin and I had the deluxe breakfast and could not finish it. Really good value for money! It is a little too small to move around comfortably and the chairs are a bit uncomfortable, but, after all, you are there to eat and go!!! I recommend it!

I have now visited this place twice for lunch and really enjoy their home cooked food and speedy service. It is quite a quirky place which adds to the atmosphere. I can recommend their $10 specials which come with salad and a pot of tea and I struggle to finish the meal. The chicken and leek pie is amazing and... More

For many years, this was my regular go-to place for a top-notch feed and excellent coffee, so I read the mixed views of recent times with trepidation when I had the opportunity to visit my old friend, Gluttony, after a long break. The coffee did not disappoint and the prices are still aimed at normal people who work for a... More

Smith street has so many cafes, takeaways, bakeries, restaurants etc that they are all competing for business big time! their are so many doing lunch offers etc it can be very difficult to stand out from all the others, but it is very obvious to see which places are 'favourites' - especially judging by the queues at takeaways! we walked...
