The place is a overload of charm an character, simple sophistication, current, cozy and beautiful. The large windows face an intimate landscape, we had dinner in this cold winter night, overlooking the big flakes of snow falling down outside over well lit trees. Excellent service, dishes are served on a slow pace allowing for a good conversation in between. The... More

Very good place, outstanding staff, nice ambiance and plenty of natural light. In the same building, a little shop that sells all kind of little gems like spices and confitures...very nice. An outstanding wine list. Me to the waiter (nice fellow and knowledgeable about the place). How big is the $26.00 cold meat and cheese platter? Him ''Pretty big''. Already,... More

For a special meal - not the cheapest - but a lovely treat. We visited and took our hosts there as a thank you for their hospitality. Lovely innovative menu and delicious meals - all chose different things. Beautifully served. They made us special fresh vervaine tea from plant in the garden (it hadn't been frosted). Also enjoyed the shop... More

Really enjoyed a chic but cozy Sunday evening meal at Les Fougères in Chelsea, Québec. This well-established family-owned restaurant/gourmet food purveyor has stepped up its decor from cozy and comfortable but plain, to cozy, comfortable and chic. The decor manages to project a modern chalet coziness that allows for different experiences: a curvaceous bar allows one to drop by for... More

Thank you to Les Fougères for a wonderful evening. A friend and I enjoyed the 8 course "blind" tasting menu and we shared accompanying wines. Each course was delicious, unique, and beautifully presented, and the wines were a wonderful complement. Our table faced the garden still in full bloom. Service was outstanding - every need was met and the courses... More

After seeing a Rogers TV programme on the restaurant, I thought it sounded different and would be a good experience. Although it doesn't look special from the roadside, once you enter and see the restaurant and back gardens, you feel relaxed and at home. The gardens are beautiful and a source of items for their kitchen. If you have the... More

My brother-in-law wanted to treat us and brought us in for a cozy Sunday dinner. We split the large plat de charcuterie, which was pleasant, especially the local Brie type cheese. Almost everyone ordered duck confit, and every plate was happily cleaned. I ordered scallops over gossamer ravioli. It was a busy but tasty dish. The only disappointment was the... More

It has been quite awhile since my wife and I have dined at Les Fougeres. No particular reason. Perhaps concern about the recent renovation of the restaurant, a wish to dine on the enclosed verandah but the weather didn't cooperate, or we believed (mistakenly) that we should only go on a "special" occasion. We shouldn't have waited so long. A... More

What a wonderful midafternoon lunch/dinner. It has been a few years since we dined at Les Fourgeres and the return was enchanting. The setting is magical dining overlooking the inspiring mixed gardens. The duck confit dinner was outstanding. Tres bien

We had high expectations but they fell short. Portions sizes are small for the price. Flavours were underwhelming. When we ordered the pork shank we expected it to be on the bone and not slices of pork. They changed the lemon bar dessert from a large and delicious portion to a mouthful of lemon square in a bowl full of... More
