The Golden Anchor is a tiny rum shop on a busy main road and looks un-inviting to the uninitiated. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. Yes its not Sandy Lane, but it serves some of the best local food in Barbados. Their macaroni pie is the best I have tasted in 31 years of visiting Barbados 2... More

If you want some authentic local food well prepared and good value for money then this is well worth a visit. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. Shame about the hoard of drunken British women looking to pick up the locals otherwise it's good fun

This shack was only a couple minutes walk from my hotel so when walking back after a few banks and a hot evening of karaoke was fairly easy ;-) ! A great atmosphere and super friendly staff. Two owners are very considerate and caring of their customers. Locals are very friendly and genuine. The food is absolutely amazing and you... More

Extended and improved rum shack with plenty of character and good grilled fish. Enjoy a few drinks with the locals and benefit from the advice and help of a very hard working and convivial English landlady.

A typical , very casual rum shack where holiday makers feel welcome. Eclectic , colourful decor and local feel , reasonable prices for food and drink. The food is simple and cooked in a small kitchen at the back of the bar. The locals arrive for quizzes and karaoke mid evening g and seem to have their own seats !... More

We got a warm welcome from Wayne and fantastic service. The food is soooooo delicious, I had the mac pie and cheesy chips and my husband had a huge fresh snapper. Drinks are cheap too. Great place to lime with the locals. I would give 6 stars if I could.

This small rum shack is a taste of real barbados. We visited holetown which offers many upscale restaurants. We prefer to experience the local culture when we travel and this place offered just that. Delicious food and drinks at a very affordable price.
