Came here after reading a review online and it didn't disappoint. This restaurant offers a nice view of Uji river while you sit down and enjoy a cup of tea and other green tea food items such as noodles and desserts.

We had one mission to accomplish coming to Uji and that is to sample the legendary matcha in its birthplace. Nakamura Tokichi is undoubtedly the best place to go if you like matcha. Practically stuffed ourselves with oh-so-delicious matcha ice cream, desserts, and matcha noodles. There are two Nakamura Tokichis in Uji. We went to the one next to Byodoin... More

If you love matcha dessert or you want to give it a try, this is the place to go. This place is very popular and the wait is quite long but you do not have to wait at the restaurant. You can just write down your name and the number of guests on the clipboard at the entrance, then you... More

Lovely matcha experience at Uji matched by tranquil views and and efficient service. We were lucky and had a window seating. Price was very reasonable. The wait is long.. 1 hour for us..but as other reviewers have said, it is very systematic and you won't feel the wait. you just write down your name and you can check out the... More

I have always loved drinking mocha and came here simply because Uji is said to be the home town of mocha. I knew the mocha here is good, but mocha tastes good everywhere, so I didn't expect it to stand out so much. But omg does the mocha here tastes heavenly ! Words can't even begin to describe.I would actually... More

We ordered the matcha, ujicha and matcha cakes dessert. It is delicious except for the hojicha which tasted a lot like choc ice cream topping. The green tea udon is absolutely delicious!

Fine food with a view overseeing the Uji River. We ordered green tea noodle and desserts. Fine quality and delicious. We love especially the green tea jelly with red bean and icecream. I have been to their branch in HK but the experience is far better here. Definitely want to come again!

We had the soba with the tofu skin and a dessert (matcha ice cream with jelly and red beans). Both were outstanding. The restaurant was situated in a lovely garden next to the river. Nice to spend some time there.

It was amazing green tea shaved ice. The green tea had good flavor and it was authentic one. The restaurant is very crowded, so you should go there in the morning.
