The food took forever to arrive and was not good quality...most likely frozen instead of fresh. No extra bread, and had to beg to get more water. The place was understaffed so it was no surprise the wait was long, and the waiter(only one!) did not come around to ever ask if we needed anything. The owner was sullen, and... More

We were guests of Cecelia and Simone at Hotel Visconti. We asked for a good, local restaurant within walking distance. They recommended Il Bucaniere and made a reservation for us. Our family of 5 had a corner table with a good view of the packed dining room. It was pretty clear that everyone there was local families. No English spoken,... More

Extensive menu, excellent house wine, family/local atmosphere. Priced very reasonably. Very busy---obviously a favorite of the locals. Very little English spoken, but no barrier to good food and good times!

Local bistro serving excellent seafood, pasta and pizzas. Obviously very popular with local clientele as we were the only Brits.

I've been there twice in 6 months (not my choice), and although pizza is ok, the rice was really poor and service was both times really awful.

I travel a lot, and sometimes it's hard to find a good place to dinner around. This place is AMASING. starters, meat, pizza, desert all is wonderful! The Insalate del Mare!!!! The Calzone!!! The beef!! The only problem is that they don't speak English and dont try to, but it makes no sence when you are on a different world...

I went for a farewell dinner with colleagues. We couldn't pick up a la carte plates, we've been given a fixed menu really simple, not well cooked. I felt like the cook didn't take care of any aspect, even the most elementals. The service was fair enough. When I left, I was just content, nothing more.

The owner of Hotel Visconti made us a reservation. Very local crowd, no tourists, inexpensive, and fabulous seafood. The seafood antipasti was extraordinary. So was the dorado, the pizza and the house wine. A great last night dinner in Italia!

Recommended by Simone at Hotel Visconti, this is a neat place. It specializes in fish and seafood but has great pastas with game ragu sauces: rabbit, venison, boar, etc. Decent and cheap house wine. Apparently they do a big pizza business --they looked good but we had pasta, a monkfish salad (very good), and mixed salad. Of all the customers... More
