We were with a group visiting Eltville at a sunny day and after a unique boat tour at the Rhine in need for a good luncheon. Restaurant is close to the river and the center and has a very nice terrace overlooking the river. Of course they have good Riesling. I had a cold roast beef with baked potatoes. Others... More

The food was great and the ambiance just made the experience even better. Service was good if not outstanding. Good location in a quaint area, right by the river. The pork dish was delicious and the potato dishes were also very enjoyable. We dined in the dead of Winter and unfortunately, could not truly enjoy the great location in the... More

Great food and service from this small but historic authentic German eatery. The owner is charming but speaks little English - which added to the charm.

This is a delightful restaurant with romantic views of the Rhine and vineyards. Therefore, you really should book a table outside to fully appreciate this place. The food is lovely. As suggested int he title, the wine soup is a must, but it is rather alcoholic, so don't drive afterwards! The German food is delicious and there is a variety... More

This is a very pleasant family run restaurant with cosy atmosphere, great service and superb food & wine. The dinner can be combined with wine tasting of local wines. The specialty is the Riesling wines. The terrace gives views of the Rhine river.

After a day's trip, with extended family, up and down the Rhine in "tourist weather" with striking scenery, we went to Weinstube Gelbes Haus (loosely translated as "Yellow House Wine Bar") for dinner. The only off note for the visit is finding parking. Parking in Eltville, along the Rhine, is a challenge, but we rose to the occasion. Finding the... More

Delicious German food and local wine. Sekt chili aperitif and Riesling cream dessert were great. Beautiful outdoor seating overlooking vineyards and Rhine River.

Fantastic view and good, standard German dishes. Try the typical Grüne Sosse with roast beef. Great way to end an afternoon in lovely Eltville

Pros: Stunning view over the river, vineyards and castle. Make sure you reserve a table outside! Service is fast and friendly. Nice atmosphere, clean. Cons: The asparagus I had were not washed properly, there was still sand in the tips. They were also not cooked for very long, but perhaps it is German fashion to eat them harder, not sure.... More

Enticed by the medieval exterior we decided to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the stunning view over the vineyards, Burgh Castle and Rhine in the late afternoon autumn glow. Local wines were refreshing and the food was good and enjoyable. Service was fine. Maybe a little more expensive than others but more than compensated by the view.
