We have just returned from the Playa Mar after spending the first two weeks in September there, and what a great time we had. We went with our son, daughter-in-law and 3 grand children (ages 2,2, & 3). The dining room staff were very attentive, friendly and looked after us. Thompson reps, kids club staff and entertainment team work very hard to make sure everything runs smoothly. The only negative point I have are the locks on the doors, they need to be child proof. One of the 2 year olds managed to open the room door, (we were all on the ground floor) and get out of the building, through the car park and onto the pavement near the road because some inconsiderate person often left the emergency exit door open when they went to the shop! I know you need eyes in the back of your head with little ones but you can't keep an eye on them all of the time. When a complaint was made to staff on reception their response was a piece of card to put in the door to make it difficult to open.

We hope to go back there again next year.

Our final point is:- this is a family hotel definitely not for couples!

Just arrived back from a week at the Playa Mar. This is a fantastic hotel for families, there is plenty to do for children they will never be bored! The reps are fab they all are genuinely asking if you are ok if you are enjoying yourself.. They all go out of there way to make you feel comfortable. The hotel apartments are adequate, the kitchen area is very small would not like to be self catering! We stayed all inclusive and found the food was good. Plenty to choose from, hot and the themed nights were good too. The entertainment team were good and the acts on a night were good also. The only 2 points I would make were a baby changing table is very much needed up near the entertainment area and the Thompson fm during the a day by the pool was a little too loud and much at times. We have been to Puerto pollensa before and again found the resort beautiful a trip to Osteria N15 restaurant for a meal is a must its fabulous food and in a perfect setting.
However overall excellent value for money and a great resort. Would definitely return.

Room tip: We stayed in block 3 facing away from the pool ideal for our son to sleep peacefully

Me and my husband have just returned from a week self catering here. The one bed apartment was a good size and very clean. The pool area was nice but most of it is set up for kids, we had one day by the pool and that was enough, no quiet space for adults and very few brollies! The first bit of beach is very close, less than a 5 min walk, just 9 sets of sunbeds so no over crowding, gently slope into the lovely calm water (it's 12.50 euros per day for 2 beds and a brolly). The whole of the hotel/apartments were very clean and nicely done up. It is a good 25-30 slow stroll into the resort centre, although the walk is very pleasant, ladies forget any sort of heel it is too uneven. All in all this is a great place for families especially if you are all inclusive. For couples it's too noisy and for self-catering too far from the resort centre.

Room tip: Away from the pool area as the entertainment at night is very loud.

Family hotel with lovely staff and great pools. Located next to the pine walk with a ~ 20 minute walk to town. Buggy is a must if you want to walk into town. Costs around five euro for a taxi. Rooms are reasonably well equipped for breakfast and lunch.
The entertainment is family orientated and that seemed to suit the majority of the clientèle. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. There is an on-site supermarket which I would equate to a Sainsburys or price.
Cleaners are great and the resort is fantastic. The town itself is stunning and does not have a Brit's abroad feel (but is still comfortable). We would go again.

Room tip: Face away from the pool for quiet, face the pool for atmosphere. Noise nil at eleven pm anyway.

Stayed here the first 2 weeks of September, the facilities are great for the kids. the entertainment goes on until 10.30 at night, Ask for an apartment facing away from the pool if your little ones go to bed before then. the bar is expensive for drinks. 3.40e for a large beer, which is about 1 euro dearer than down town! the walk to town pushing a buggy is about 20 mins on pine walk. its a lovely stroll in the evening, and only 5e in a taxi back. the beach is 2 mins walk away. this is the nicest place we've stayed for years...would return again....

Room tip: the best food is served in the restaurants off the main drag, better priced too.
