Driving conditions

Does anyone have any information about the ease of driving in the San Juan/ Rio Grande areas?

Driving in Rio Grande is no particular problem. The route from San Juan to Rio Grande is very easy and Rt 3, the main road through Rio Grande carries a lot of traffic is easy to navigate.

San Juan itself is more congested as you would expect in any big city. Stick to the expressways where possible as some of the local streets can be really slow. I have also noticed that the locals don't know what a turn signal is for.

A GPS is highly recommended.
